This article is exceptionally vague. The declines in revenue over the last year or two are a couple of percentage points, and there were declines from 2005-2006 too when Gates was at the helm.

Bernanke the fraud along with tax fraud Tim Geithner are trying to argue that 'we' don't want to politicize monetary policy even though the Fed Chair is appointed by a politician.

Given that this bill has way more support than the health care bill, or any of the bailouts(which were passed in about 2 days) and is only one page in length, it should have been passed last year.

If not for the Federal Government, they never would have gone to deep water. The Feds passed a law limiting BP's liablity, and now they want to repeal it. They also disallow off shore drilling as well as on shore drilling. So if not for the Federal Government, they never would have gone to the risky deep water drilling.

Everyone wants to villify BP even though they help to keep oil costs low(because they increase competition with the other oil companies), and employ 80,000 people. I hope those who went out to protest DON'T OWN CARS, or any other petroleum based product. I'm sure they do, hypocrites.

The posted limit is 65mph in California. That is so ridiculously slow. 80 - 85 mph is perfectly safe. In fact, I'd argue that going 80+ mph with 5 car lengths of separation on front, back and no one on either side ( i.e. an X ) is WAY safer than going 65mph with 2 inches of separation and cars or trucks on both sides. We should be enforcing safe driving distances more so than slow speeds. I wouldn't even mind if we enforced 1 car length per 10 mph. Although I'd agree there is a speed that is no longer safe, but it's really more about speed differences than total speed. Driving 100+ on the 5 freeway at 3am when there's no traffic isn't really that dangerous.

We should be ticketing people for following to close or driving side by side (although I believe the CHP does give you a break if you're driving 80 with reasonable safety precautions).

The cost of computers has been reduced from $600,000 to $600 and the speed has been increased by 16 Million Times since 1950. On top of that, that's funny money. If you look at it in terms of real money, the cost of a computer has dropped from 20,000 ounces of gold to about 0.5 ounces.

When technology gets better, the cost of services should come down. The problem with health care is that the government has so much involvement with it. Instead of health care prices dropping, like they should be, for standard procedures they are rising. If you look at plastic surgery and lasik, two non government subsidized procedures, you'll see that they've come down dramatically in price just in the last 10 years.

Get rid of the HMO, Medicare, Medicaid, government regulations on what insurance companies must sell, The Prescription Drug Program. the AMA, licensure laws which politicize who may or may not be a doctor and do little to ensure quality of care. There is no way to have equitable distribution of resources. Some people are bigger and stronger, others are better looking, others are smarter. All of these traits affect productivity. You can't have a government(who has nothing, they don't produce, just consume) come in and somehow figure out how to take from one person and give to another. One party will lose in that deal.
