good god, granted some games are considered classics, but isnt there a time, say when the game is 10 years old that we all move on and grab the latest port of quake?
this online censorship thing got out of hand a long time ago, governments need to stop catering to these special interest groups and start really thinking about the decisions they're making, granted certain things are inappropriate and probably shouldnt be viewed by certain people, ie porn and young children, but is that grounds to deny the rest of the population the right? when and where do we draw the line? the internet is its best when everything is at your disposal, take away the easy access to information and you're left with an ass load of banner advertisements and webpages trying to make a quick buck. i dunno, ive probably trailed on enough, its 4:10am, this is the best post i could come up with at the moment. goodnight.
This reminds me of a few years back, when corporations were informed that something intangible, information, could be bought, sold, traded and be as valuable, if not moreso than gold.
Of course change doesnt come easily when you're making truckloads of money with the status quo, so it took em a few years to catch on to it.
Look where we are now, okay, maybe all the "e-*" catchphrases are a bit tiresome, but technology has never been better, faster, cheaper, easier to use.
I guess what im trying to say is, within a few years, everything will be different, paradigms will have been altered so radically that we most likely cant venture a guess about what's to come in the next few years. After all, who saw e-commerce becoming a multi billion dollar a year industry?
This whole open source competition microsoft is recieving is great, never before have I seen ms use such desparate tactics, they're biting and scratching at anything open source, i think they have a feeling they're not going to win this battle so they're using whatever they have left in their inventory, mm.. sweet justice.
yet another example of how a superior product falls due to inferior marketing, hopefully sega's developers can teach sony's a thing or two about making games on high end consoles..
