"Add to this an always-on, all-sides video camera to document that it was the minivan that strayed into your lane, and it'll be even better."
You could also add the always-on even when the car is parked and not running video camera to document those assholes who keep slamming my brand car with their friggin doors...I've had to have paintless dent repair twice now..
Reminds me of the late Bill Hicks where he onced asked a crowd if there were any advertisers/marketing people present, to which a few people responded yes. He then promptly told them to kill themselves, they of course laughed since this was he standup routine after all. He then reiterated, seriously, please kill yourself, you are the fucking scum of the earth. It was pretty damn funny. But anyway, I have to agree with you, these people make me sick.
I work for IBM and use Notes every single friggin day, all friggin day. Overly complex and bloated is an understatement. It's absolute crap. $300 million seems like enough to start from scratch and create something decent. If I didn't have to use it, I never would..
From the stuck-on-the-sidelines dept???? That seems like a bit of an understatement. Shouldn't this raise a MAJOR red flag as to the state of this nation? We are down to a two party system that could arguably be said to be a one party system. Our freedoms, liberties, and ability to elect an official of the people, BY the people, have been crushed by special interest while big business decides this nations future. sad indeed.

Seems to me that the only way MS can combat the wide acceptance of Linux is to make it illegal to use Linux. They realize that software superiority is something they can not achieve, so the only option they have is to leverage their monopoly power, vast hordes of cash, and dirty lawyers to insure their products reign supreme, both on the shelf and bundled with new computers. They noose is beginning to tighten. They see a serious threat that refuses to go away.
The first mp3 I downloaded was Portishead's - "Cowboys." This must have been in the WInter of 1997. I was on dial up in my little studio apartment so I had the computer in the kitchen. It took about 5 minutes to download the song, but once I started playing it I couldn't get enough. I think I spent the rest of the night downloading mp3s. As if I didn't get out enough before.:)
Correct if I am wrong, but doesn't such an action just legitimize the claims of the SCO group? Or, does it just mean that in the unlikely even that SCO actually win this lawsuit that Novell will absorb the costs of it's customers Linux deployments, as far as liscensing?
Seems like HP is notorius for this type of misleading labeling. When I was shopping for a laptop we looked at the HP Pavillion ze4430us (this laptop is crap for Linux by the way, stay far away). It was advertised as 2.0Ghz. We were told it was a 2.0Ghz, but when the box came to the register it said 1.8Ghz. We were then told it operated at the same level as a 2.0Ghz. Go figure
Nevermind that our non-elected, paid his way into the presidency, dipshit of a leader sends 1000's to their deaths so he can keep control of the worlds oil. Yeah, way to use your voice NYT's reporter. Report on the stuff that really matters, good job. Jackass
This is exactly why SPAM is thriving and so widespread. Someone, somewhere will fall for anything, no matter how propostrous. A million may complain about SPAM, but it only takes one to buy into the scam. I mean, this one he should have seen a mile away and yet he lost a ton of money. Sad.
Add yet another game to my ever growing list of games I can play on Linux. I also suggest you purchase Savage (FPS/RTS) if your expenses allow. You can download and play instantly for $39.99. I did last night. Looks like it's going to be a lot of fun. I'll be checking out Legends tonight as well. Thanks to the developers and ignore the whiners. Keep the games coming!
You have to pay a monthly fee for your Phone, all I need is a laptop and a wireless card and the desire to search for hot spots. Not saying it's for anyone, but Wi-Fi is not going away any time soon.
This might be slightly off topic, but it got me thinking. I am fairly new to C++ programming so the whole idea of private data members in classes has me a little confused. While this topic is about.NET, I'm sure the idea of private and public members is similiar in both languages. Is there any reason to make a member private in an Open Source project? If everyone can see my code than why would I care. Or, by making a member private do I actually ensure that the USER will not have access to certain data within a program? The poster made it sound like I was trying to hide data from other programmers.
Because flapping-in-the-wind-flag-like windows are something that will REALLY boost productivity. Windows is now nothing more than a screensaver. "Oh, that's cool, what is it?" "Oh, that's my new screensaver, Windows" "Cool, can I check my email?" "Sure, let me reboot into Linux"

Please don't give them any ideas
inevitably I always leave one word out "brand new car"

How else are going to keep up with the spending habits of the no talent hacks you see on Cribs?

I'm sorry, New York Post, not NYT. All other comments stand

Don't most run DOS now anyway?
I have Time Warner in Chapel Hill, NC and my speed has dropped from a steady 3.1Mbps to 1.7Mbps. You are not alone
What, no screenshots? next story

The above comment is falmebait nonsense. And the spelling is terrible.
C'mon, can't gamers put there energy into something more worthwile? I mean, who the hell played the first one? How about StarCraft II :)
I AM OF COURSE JOKING, so please don't mod me as flamebait.
