If it can show a different product in each market, smaller businesses could afford to have their products shown on popular TV shows. Not only would it be good for small businesses, but it would be fun to see local products used by famous people.

And since it's 33% more expensive, the fuel requires 33% more production somewhere in the economy, which isn't necessarily clean or efficient. Price matters.

We're not in danger of shielding kids to the point where they have a falsely peaceful view of the real world. Not even close. We're in danger of giving them the false impression that violence is normal.

Maybe on a Palm it doesn't. Last night and this morning I read it on my PC (19" 1600x1200 monitor) and felt totally immersed just like when reading a paper book.

According to the lawyers, you're right:

"The lawyers cite statistics showing that just 2.6 percent of Microsoft's approximately 22,000 employees, and just 1.6 percent of its 5,155 managers, are black. "The numbers illustrate that Microsoft is guilty of some of the most egregious discrimination in corporate America," Hoffler said. "

But using statistics to show discrimination has another name: quotas. I wonder if anyone has considered that maybe white programmers outnumber black programmers.

Then when he graduates after an appropriate indoctrination give him a grey cubicle in a large building. He'll meet a prety girl, get married and have kids. He can then punish his kids for his own failures by forcing them to remain within the system. All is well. No dangerous thinkers to upset things.

Evil thought: This might be good for small companies. A scary CERT advisory might actually get more press attention than a small company could afford otherwise (none).

If artists receive only $2.00 per CD, they should charge $3.00 per downloaded CD or charge per song and encourage as many people as possible to download from Napster. It would work out better for everyone who matters.
