I'm voting 3rd party. You're telling me that's a vote for Romney and Romney supporters tell me that it's a vote for Obama. So, by everyone's count I've got three votes now. That sounds pretty awesome to me.

  8. TNG on Ask Slashdot: How To Introduce Someone To Star Trek? · · Score: 1

TNG, but the first season is pretty slow so show some of the better ones at first like Darmok, Ship in a Bottle, or the ones with Q. If she likes it go back to the beginning and see if she can follow from there. After that usually DS9, then it's really it's personal preference from there. TOS is good, but it's really dated so a lot of people actually skip it or watch it last.

  9. Shuttles in Science Fiction on NASA Shuttle Discovery Set To Buzz Washington, DC · · Score: 3, Insightful

It really hit home how sad this was when I was watching Stargate SG-1 and they had to send up a space shuttle to get Jack O'Neil and company out of a stranded alien space craft in orbit. I then realized in current times, the use of a space shuttle would be part of the science fiction.

The proposal of a one-way tripe has been around for a long time. From what I have read, most, if not all people in the field that are qualified, would be willing to volunteer to go. And why not? You would be one of the first people to set foot on an alien world. You would be history. Movies would be made of your life. Ego aside, the experience would be amazing. You'd see things no other human ever has and discover things that could possible change the way humanity looks at itself. This would be one of the most epic journeys mankind has undertaken. Many qualified sane people would willingly volunteer to boldly go where no man has gone before.

My guess was correct after reading the breif synopsis. Really after the twist endings of The Usual Suspects, Palahnuik, and dare I say M. Night Shamwow, this is not a big shocker, and really it's very predicable.

Labeling this flamebait implies that he is insulting people by calling them gay. Thus everyone who has down-modded it sees the concept of being gay as something negative. Clearly this was meant as a joke and to take it as an insult means you are bringing your own beliefs about the negative connotation of being gay into the modding process.

Please mods leave your bigotry out of the modding process. People can be gay and still be normal people.
