Apologies if someone else has noted this, but a provisional patent means nothing. It is a mere filing without review and has no substance other than being a time stamp that can be later referenced in a real filing. I can put a roll of toilet paper in an envelope and pay $85 and have a 'Provisional Patent'
Transparent suggests the light goes through unimpeded. Tough to extract energy in a solar panel if the light just goes through. One can target the wavelengths we don't see, but our eyes generally see the most intense part of the sunlight curve, so effective efficiency would be limited
I have no issue with eating a vegetarian, but I'll be damned if I'll eat them raw. The raw foodies are even bigger nut jobs than chiropractors that claim to cure cancer
Grammar misuse is like any other form of miscommunication. If you want to be clear, unambiguous, then use the language properly. If you want to sound like a dolt, then do what you want. It is no different than accepting a standard set of units - when you and your co-workers screw up, your spacecraft has a problem.
I agree. Much like AT&T, only in this case it will be the baby Bills (followed naturally by the regional Bills, the consolidated Bills, the reconstituted Bills, and finally the re-integrated Bills with nameless nobodies running ponderous oligopolies unresponsive to users' real needs. Oh, wait, nevermind, just leave it alone)
take electric power from a cable, inefficiently convert to light, run it through a cable, inefficiently convert it to electricity, then use what little is left!!
Why not just use the electricity and a copper cable???
Actually, my son the recent PhD in Biophysics, and an atheist, believes the research is flawed in detail and in conclusion. He has no agenda other than truthiness.
While the fixture/lamp may be equivalent in some sense, that ignores the billions of existing fixtures. Second, there are illuminated light switches that rely on a low current through the bulb even while the switch is in the OFF position. Not really dangerous if you touch it, unless you are on a step ladder and startle and fall (don't worry, I'll be fine).
My wife keeps yelling at me to get hearing aids - but I just pretend I don't hear her.
ahh, 2nd grade. Best 3 years of my life
teach them a dance that represents the register states, with a few rules that show how to take an input, manipulate it, and get an output
Actually, the result would be bits and pieces

breeding, and I'm ready for space!
We can balance the budget by stopping Social Security payments to South Koreans

You don't need to ask Darwin; any literate 10th grader can explain the basics of evolution, and explain why your last paragraph is ignorant nonsense.

If they incorporated a Scottish Yoke, just for the fun of it...
Didn't The Last Starfighter cover this plot territory?
Just download everything tonight, cancel tomorrow
To my way of thinking, if the tumor is bad enough that it can swallow a pill, you may as well just give up.

Hmm, good point. I guess we should add a 12 cent fuse to the circuit...
Really? Can you cite a source that shows that, taking into consideration the energy density & adjusting for the conversion inefficiencies?

I was going to park there...

Two points:
