Tape measures are the real problem. I must have a dozen, yet finding one when I need it is always an issue. Phillips screwdrivers too. And utility knives. One time I spent most of an afternoon looking for one. Ended up only getting part of a wall sheet-rocked. Fortunately the customer was a 'software engineer' and understood completely how I could look so busy without getting much done.
Grow up. Dreams are our contribution to the universe and the foundation of our legacy. The individual's small contributions to mankind's monuments is the essence of life after death.
To address the selection problem for the pool of reviewers and avoid having the self selection result in a bias, when an entry needs judging put the question to a random group of users. Have it pop up when they log in and require a vote of 'OK' or 'Not OK' before they finish logging in to their account.
posting anyway, I wonder if the recent commenter who was looking for a man who cooks is still looking? Not about me, in case you were wondering, but I can give a link if you are interested.
Re this subject, a recent article I read (Scientific American or MIT Tech Review?) described the algebra 2/success correlation that was found in a school district, and further data mining (the main topic of the article) found the correlation of 8th grade creative writing success with later algebra 2 success. More effort was put into the early writing, and results ensued.
Actually...the tides caused by the moon occur both in the water and the land (to a lesser extent) and do contribute to the energy (heat) and motion of the ground. This could, in principle, happen in such a way to act as a trigger as a fault teeters on the edge of movement. It could also act to enable small slippages, and relieve stresses before catastrophic events occur.
So don't be absolutely, categorically sure about something so complicated and interrelated. Even if you might, possibly, but not certainly, correct.
Magic to you perhaps. To those who actually know anything about the subject, transformers take an AC source at a certain voltage and current, and generate an output of a different voltage and current AT THE SAME FREQUENCY.
There may be phase shifts, and there are always energy losses, but the frequency stays the same.
Most AC motors are frequency locked to the power source, hence will operate at different RPM at 50 Hz than at 60 Hz. If that is an issue in the application, then a motor change would be required. Many TVs were also locked to the power signal - PAL vs NTSC.
Can you actually cite some sources on this? Transformers are all about voltage changing. It is not immediately clear that the difference between 50hz and 60hz would affect them all that much.
I would guess that the larger problem would be with motors and other devices that rely on the power frequency to determine their performance characteristics.

Does teaching children to strap on bombs and blow themselves up count as molestation?
Was it legal retail copies, or should the RIAA get involved
I was trying to write a brilliantly thoughtful and original paper, but my keyboard wouldn't let me....

Where do they find so many little people to man all those ATMs?
I am both shocked AND dismayed
I like my rouge server, but not as much as my teal one.
I call for an open source project to provide low cost state of the art home chip fabs. That should solve the problem.

It may sound awesome, but when it runs Windows and crashes, it really is THE BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH!!
Another Japanese project that glows in the dark
Surprise!
Yes, We will be going live this summer.
I thought they got bought, or something...
Now my wife is going to be all over my ass about that huge concrete pad I poured out back.
Maybe 'razor sharp' is like after your wife uses in on her legs but forgets to mention it...

Are those the customer's nuts inside?

114 pair of shoes?
Let them collect every penny, the taxes will wipe out the national debt and then some.
