Most recently someone signed up for ebay using my email address. Same as others, firstname.lastname@gmail.com, Iâ(TM)m in the US.
To date: Two different people using it to sign up for their three account in the UK One landscaping quote in the UK Three golf course reservations in the UK Multiple airline ticket confirmations from all over Emails asking for follow up in person interviews in the US and UK
For the interview emails Iâ(TM)ve responded saying that whoever they interviewed they gave the wrong email address, and received thank you notes.
At this point I get about an equal amount of mail for myself as for other people. Iâ(TM)ve tried sorting it out, but three only does customer support over twitter, and never fixed the first account when I DMâ(TM)d them. For EBay I never responded to the âoeverify my accountâ email, but that didnâ(TM)t seem to matter.
Worse, Adobe's decision is having serious fallout for other communities like the photographer community that historically always used Photoshop for their touch-up work because it integrated well with Lightroom. Even though they haven't been stupid enough to make LR cloud-only, there are a lot of folks who are very unhappy with the current state of affairs.
Yep. I'll be sticking with LR4 and CS6 until they no longer meet my needs, then I'll be re-evaluating other offerings. They can say they won't switch LR to a subscription based model, but after having CS pulled out from under me like that, I'm not going to take the chance.
I'm not waiting for them to roll it out, just nuked my account. I even get cable for free* due to my apt complex having a package deal with Time Warner, I still refuse to watch shows with commercials.
*yes, it's not truly free, but I don't have a choice other than moving out...
No, I'd say your energy is misdirected. There already are many researchers dedicated to finding a cure for diabetes. Your energy would be better spent doing something besides hounding someone who's already busy trying to solve a major problem.
The only real surprise here is that UNL is ditching Notes; that it's moving to a Microsoft product is a given at this point. (If you know the University's relationship with MS)
So long as I can setup imap/pop to pull mail to another client, I really don't care what they transition to so long as I never have to open Notes ever again.
The only TV[*] I've seen in the last five years has been with friends/family at their homes, the ones that still watch it, that is. Drives my co-workers crazy I think, as it's an easy way to pass the time, talking about a TV show...
If they go after all the TV torrents out there, I may not see the next seasons of SG1 and Atlantis, and consequently not buy the DVDs when they come out. I'll live though.
Stopped buying music CDs a few years ago, now the only thing "new" I listen to is music I can get for free (and legal) from various sites like CTG.
Stopped caring about movies, both in the theater and on DVD about six months ago.
Quit MMORPGs for good when EA canceled EnB.
An interesting side-effect that I can not 100% attribute, but I'm sure has played a roll is that I've lost 50 lbs in the last year, read more, and have had friends remark that I'm happier. (granted this could even be completly un-related to the afformentioned diatribe, but I'd like to think it helped)
I had something more substantial and coherent to say, but damn it, I can't think right now. Need sleep first.
[*] by this I mean TV with commercials actually broadcast over the wire, not something I've downloaded.
It is a bit frustrating how much effort we spend on leasure activities isn't it. I find it more frustrating to see all the people in my life who have some how lost the ability to dream and take risks.
At least there is the potential for the engineer working for sea-doo to make a breakthrough that could influence other works outside of their field, I'm not sure the same could be said for the poor sap working tech support for a bank.
I could go on a rant, but this is already headed way off topic, so I'll stop.
I don't understand why they try to make human robots.
From the article:
Collins is applying what's been learned in an effort to develop better prosthetic feet for humans.
"I think that you can't know how the foot should work until you can understand its role in walking," he said.
You bring up a valid point; however, this is/. so who cares. =]
I don't watch it, don't care if it's on tv or off the air. Didn't think so many people would get all riled up, guess that's what I get for posting so early.
Personally, I think I could create a better show based off of the contents of my toilet.
Funny. I started out in 1996 in CS because I loved computers. In 2001 after working full time and doing school part time I switched to geology after I'd lost my love of computers.
I really think the only thing that recent experiments in HNLC ocean waters has proved is that Fe2+ is the limiting nutrient in phytoplankton production.
There really doesn't seem to be a solid link between increased production and Carbon sequestering. It's definatly worth further study, but as for proven?
Do you have well regarded source you could list that states some hard numbers for Carbon sequestering rates? I wouldn't mind seeing it, as I certainly havn't read every article out there on the subject.
As with any major system upgrade, I'd recomend backing up anything that you can't replace.
I've personally taken one box from 2.6 -> 2.7 -> pre 2.8 (and soon to the newly released 2.8)
and 3 other from 2.7 -> 2.8 with out any major problems. I'm not sure of the Right Way [tm] for upgrading from 2.6 -> 2.8. I'd recomend checking the FAQ and the mailing list archives. The biggest problem AFIK is updating/etc and the fact that if you have bind 8.2.2Px installed you will need to do a pkg_add on bind again because the upgrade contains bind 4.9.7 (? not sure of the exact version)
undocumented? how's that? ever used a man page? I only have OpenBSD so I can't speak for the others, but if you want to do it, there is probably a man page on it. like man skey, or man ipsec, or man md5, man ccd (which looks to me like it's written in plain english)
Heh. I don't wear anything BUT t-shirts. (Unless Management forces me to wear a company shirt to a conference...) copyleft.net does sell long sleeved shirts though, so you don't have to buy t-shirts.

Thanks for all your hard work CmdrTaco.
Now where'd I put those hot grits...

I say, follow UNL's example.

darn, no mod points or you'd be +1 more...

Nope, you arn't alone there.
I've been using blackbox for (4?)+ years because it has always done exactly what I need.

Only if your toilet flushes sideways.
Let it die already!

Far happier now than I'd ever hoped.
About time! /nothing to see here.

Get "TabBrowser Extensions" for Firefox. Can set it for only one window, and to open everything in tabs.s .html.en

Isn't this kind of thing better left to freshmeat?
Not that it's a big deal I guess, just seems like
some extra fluff.
