Sorry but I haven't been able to see a doctor in over half my life. Though it does suck and my broken wisdom tooth hurts like hell I don't sit there and blame my dads old company for putting him on disability instead of 6months leave so he could have retired causing me and both my younger brothers to loose our insurance. I'm 25 now and haven't been to the doctors for more than a physical for work since then. And a dentist once for a free exam after which they quoted me over 4 grand to fix my teeth and remove my wisdom teeth. My dads company was just as crooked as Madoff using your logic b/c they would rather save some money than let an employee of 29 and a half years retire properly which would have given benefits for me and my brothers till we turned 18. Oh and b/c of the money my dad made with his pension and disability we made too much money for any government help b/c they wouldn't take into account all the medical bills we had from my dads stroke.
Yes they were victims of being hoodwinked but that doesn't mean they were victims of suicide. That was their choice and theirs alone. There are 1000's of homeless people out there that didn't decide suicide was the only option.
If you get caught speeding by the police you have to pay a fine. And I for one don't want it to get to the point where the police will actively searching for Pirates like they do for speeders. Plus there is the whole speeding causes crashes which causes death which is why we have speed limits in the first place so you analogy kinda fails. The car industry wouldn't gain anything thing by fighting for stricter speed limits. Now if someone had a magic machine that allowed them to make duplicate cars over and over so people didn't have to go out and buy them and the car industry started crying about lost sales and saying that everyone who got a free duplicate would have bought one if they couldn't get one for free and that the government needed to step in to stop the pirates then it be kinda close.
Well pretty much everyone I know who owns a computer at least uses limewire. You can't even pretend most people you know under 30 that have a computer have not pirated something.
If you've seen the state of journalism in America right now you'd understand that with how full of ignorance it is it pushes people to apathy. The closest thing to a fare and honest journalist we have is Jon Stewart and that says a lot, people can try to deny it but he is the only person I see that tells it how it is whether its the democrats or republicans screwing up.
I always thought of survival of the fittest in the natural sense as in members with unfavorable traits get weeded out from the herd. Today the term means nothing to humans b/c of civilization and technology. Even people with learning disabilities Can grow up and have children. I'm not talking completely retarded people but people that have no hopes of contributing to society outside of bagging groceries. Same thing goes for people with genetic diseases. If a major nuclear war happened and civilization was destroyed many many people would be dead with in years.
Actually I'm left handed and there are plenty of games that don't fully take being left handed in to consideration take MW2 I don't know how many time trying to move forward in the heat of battle and end up meleeing b/c I push in on the thumbstick. Might sound dumb but when your trying to get away from someone and stop running just to knife thin air it gets annoying.
Usability: The need to use the command line for installing custom proprietary software is a shortcoming, however they are completely ignoring the so-called "advanced users", who actually learn how to use their computer in the best possible manner. Maybe I'm wrong, but GNU/Linux strikes me as much more usable for such users. (Not to mention that users who don't wish to be advanced users should let the advanced users manage the system for them.)
How many advanced users are there compared to novice users and just plain computer illiterate users. Just going on the people I know it is easily 10 to 1 and more than likely its a lot higher than that. I for one don't need all the people I know switching over to Ubuntu I get enough people calling me and wanting me to fix the simple little problems on their Windows machines as is. Let alone people that have no clue that just because they bought some software at a store chances are it won't work on their Ubuntu box and trying to explain it to them would be too time consuming.
Well I used to get download speeds of 7KBs 10 years ago and I now get 1.2MBs so its about a 175 fold increase if my math is right. Oh and I believe I was paying $20 a month for that and I am paying $25 a month for the first year and I'm only 2 months in on that price but it will double in 10months.
Back in 1999 my family got an eMachines 466is for $999 on black friday but we had to get 2 years of AOL to get that price. Subsidizes were alot worse back then. I would take 2 gigs of crapware I can get rid of over being forced into a service that will cost me $400 over the two years.
Damn dude couldn't you use your dads disability check to put him and your mom in a nice retirement home instead of using it for to build your own server farm in the garage?
I don't understand. I read the first paragraph and was left scratching me head like wtf is he talking about. Then upon reading the second paragraph I saw the word Acceleration and thought to myself "Finally he is talking about cars now I'll get it" But no not one damn car in that whole post I feel like I just wasted a chunk of my life to be left confused and scared thanks a lot.
Yes your right he should have gave away all those licenses instead of charging for them. I mean who cares if he would never have ahd the billions to give away to great causes then if all those businesses would have saved some money. I'm sure they would have taken those savings and either past it on to their consumers or donated it themselves.
I love how no matter what good things Microsoft or Bill Gates does people still try to twist it as them just trying to cover up some other evil or only doing it for a good PR spin.
"Hey bill Gates has donated over 58 billion of his own money to charity"
"Pfft. Who cares its like me donating $5. Its nothing more than a PR stunt if he really wanted to do something nice he would donate all he has"
Yeah no ones house ever burnt down from a curtain getting to close to a lamp with an incandescent bulb. And damn the government for forcing coal plants to use scrubbers to remove some of the pollution from the smoke stacks forcing the power company to do something they wouldn't have done other wise. Now my electricity cost me an extra 2 cents per kwh. Why the hell should they be forcing people to use bulbs that will help take a load off the grid? I like brown outs how am I ever going to see the stars at night with all the ambient light around.
I was just pointing out that it took them until v3 to have that 'rudimentary feature' and your bitching about Android having it out of the box but it 'sucked' in your opinion. And yeah Android is on v2.2 in only a year b/c instead of waiting until they released there new phone and having a new version of their OS come out with that they will have incremental updates to fix bugs and add features quicker. That usually happens with open source software. Look at Ubuntu its been out since 2004 and is at version 10 while windows is at 7(11) and mac is 10 as well. When you have code anyone can take and change and make better you have to stay on top of the ball. If you don't everyone is going to be using an OS that just forked off of your original OS.
Even if you pick pocket only once your still a thief. And that's how the RIAA looks at downloading any copyrighted song.

123 123 123 123 123 123 123 123 123 123.... somehow I think OCD might be a little unfair to the movies.

I shall check her out right now. Thanks.

Left handed, all thumbs, and I have terribly flat feet. Thank god survival of the fittest doesn't apply to humans anymore.
I hate right handed scissors you have to do the push pull thing on the handles to get them to cut correctly

The comparison is mostly bullshit.

If that was the case there never would have been a V-chip.

I'm paying $24.99 for 12 months for 12Mbps after that it will go up to $50 but by then I'm hoping on having fiber.

Isn't being a grammar Nazi with the name Goldstein like being a living oxymoron?
