Client Server turned out to be not so good with proliferation of servers in a company. Virtual Hosts on same hardware solves this somewhat but the model is ugly with redundant code per user and onerous per user fees by MS. The internet programming will mature to have clean server code that can be balanced easily and simple client device to plug into server. Maybe this is what IBM is doing but I see that spun off in the upcoming bankruptcy. Sounds like batch system is making a comeback.
Just bought Micron 128GB SSD x2 for 2004 Dell PC boot mirror drive. Will install and see if linux works and if so then no Winblows at all of my computing devices. Apple may be next if they don't fix the hardware and software issues since last quarter of 2013. Windows 7 isn't that goos either.
So humans expect the ice at the poles to stay the same? If ice was gaining, then they would scare us with ice age like in the 70's. The earth is self-regulating and will hopefully get rid of humans some day. The Great Lakes pretty much froze over this past winter. Lake Michigan is still around 42 F.
The homeowner should pay for a conduit pipe from street then comm vendors can bid to use it by fishing conduit wire thru it to home. This would drastically reduce the price of upgrading services and even allow more than one provider at a time. The problem is cronyism on the local level with Cable deals from the 1970's and then Federal rules that favor the incumbents to collude.
If you need to to do advanced formatting for a longer document, LibreOffice is much easier and reliable for that. And printing Avery labels is a breeze until Word to this day.
What is called "sharing" is actually electronic send and read/markup. So LibreOffice has built in PDF Export for that. Why would you want to send your biz partner a document that could easily be edited/changed and misinterpreted (or made fraudulent for quote etc)?
Took Computer Programming as freshmen at my high school. The teacher started by talking about the computer, languages, and coding stressing spaghetti code horror stories. We then discussed a sample problem, the flow chart for it, and the code. We then programmed an Apple II. Next we learned the Basic Language. The rest of the class was: pick a problem, flowchart it, write it in pseudo code, program it in Basic, test it, have fun. I wrote a tank program with simple sound and color that hunted down my friend and blew him away for the class project which was the majority of the grade.
The Commerce Clause was originally intended to not allow a state to put up barriers to trade with another state. Now it is interpreted as the exact opposite.
The Supreme Court already decided that mail order companies do not have to collect state sales tax if the company does not have a physical presence in the customer's state. So how does ordering online via web browser differ much logically from ordering from a mail order catalog and using the 800 phone #? A bankrupt state will tax anything that moves.
The vendor already pays property tax and profit tax. The consumer is paying property tax and other taxes that already cover utility for road use and such.
Physics dictates that as weight increases mpg decreases. So BO is granting manufacturers and the EPA to lie in order to make the stat goal. Sounds like Full Employment Budgeting B.S.
John, have you speculated on why Psychopathy is so widespread today and why psychos are so controlling of creativity? Creative persons can spot a psycho a mile away so I would think psychos would not confront the creative types. -- Yadda
Why was FB not flagged for doing the same? These companies are valued on registered users that were inflated by this fraudulent marketing. How many of these users are regular users? 40%? LinkedIn P/E is 916 and FB's is 1,712. Can you say crash?
Just wait until The Great Default comes. Colleges will experience severe pain as persons deem it obvious that there are more important pursuits like protecting what one owns and doing real work to create value. F the FED!!!
Didn't the writer realize colleges had been bought off by Wall Street too? Just look at how much is invested in sports and college playoffs. These institutions are no longer useful to our society.
This is b.s. An Italian doctor traveled for years documenting how all animals, not just mammals but birds and insects, try to alter their consciousness with "booze". He wrote a book titled "Animals and Psychedelics: The Natural World and the Instinct to Alter Consciousness".
James Chanos http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Chanos shorted Autonomy before HP bought it. When HP overpaid, he had to cover short, but made good when he shorted HP. Maybe HP should have consulted with him before the purchase as he sells his research. Chanos is the one who shorted Enron and Worldcom.
If you are rolling your own why not just keep using init? You are not using a full dist I hope for firewall.

Yes, the would is dynamic and changes all the time. Life is non-linear aF(x) not equal F(ax) and F(x+y) not equal F(x) + F(y) for some x and y.

I use DuckDuckGo and Startpage mostly now for search. When I need to map directions I jump directly to google maps.

Seen it done many times. Why should we base a document creation and sharing infrastructure based on these kinds of users?

And be sure to sue the birds and bees.
I learned much from Byte Magazine. R.I.P.

As Thomas Jefferson said, to paraphrase: "You can choose to tax capital, income, or sales; but if you tax all three you will kill the economy."

The job market is good too! Endemic psychopathic lying.

HP destroyed EDS, Compaq, and DEC, and webOS.
