Or, in a manner more fitting with the first comment he could share it with people who he feels made important contributions, or their heirs if need be.
Communication is important in any crisis. The only reason to sabotage it is to disrupt and disable organization of the enemy. Why would our own government want to "switch off" our ability to coordinate?
No, copyright at its core is a system to ensure those who spent months writing books didnt get fucked just cause the guy next door has a printing press and could, hypothetically make and sell as many copies as possible.
Thats not to say the system hasnt been corrupted in such a way that allows it to be abused in the way you described.
Define instantaneous when simultaneity is relative.
Would you be able to communicate with people in the past from really far away?
If you were in a spaceship and you were going really fast (good fraction of c) would your voice get all deep in a FTL transmission?
If ou wer going c and you turned the headlights on...
The reason this is happening is that apple products are not sold with a markup. Ipods that are sold in stores for $300 are sold TO the stores for $300. Meaning the only money the stores make is on the overprices accessories (also the reason the accessories cost so damned much anyway).
Maybe apple should rethink its distribution method and stop raping vendors.
And this is what you get when you put technical decisions in the hands of people who call their tower a "CPU." Any competent content administrator should be able to deal with their data moving across windows, linux and mac systems. This is expensive ignorance at its finest.
Fricken ships! With Frickin laser beams!
You say that as if there wasn't a reason why some/most can't be handled in a similar fashion.
Paperbacks will never die simply because once they leave the hands of the vendor they also leave the control of the vendor.
Seeing in IR wouldn't do much for us to see at night unless there was an IR source nearby.

Isnt that the social responsibility of a people when their gov't gets a bit too uppity?
Nope, we know something they dont, we understand the internet. Thats precisely why they want to control it.

Dibs on that shit when the kid kicks the bucket!
The only reason the Oligarchy exists is because your average american citizen cannot name their congresspeople.

Not exactly pocket sized but a step in the right direction.
I agree wholeheartedly.
I cant wait till they make this pocket sized. It would do nicely as a smart phone form factor.

High schools have a strange sense of "voluntary."
