Sounds about right.. my usage each month is about 1100 kwh, so figure 720 hours in a month is 1.5kw per hour.. but solar only gives you about 8 hours a day of full usage, so i'd need a 4.5kw solar array.
and if you install xp, activate it, and then install the drivers for the JMB, you'll have to phone into Microsoft to reactivate, as this triggers too many "hardware changes"
try rzip, if it's mostly text it'll fit, as rzip gets very high compression ratios on text, especially since large chunks of your email are likely repeated(headers, quoted text, etc)
Yeah, unfortunately they don't have internet relay up here in Canada that i've ever found, if i want to abide by the ToS.. there's a few US ones that might work, but they don't allow non-US residents to use them.
What about those deaf enough that talking to someone with a heavy accent is a problem, but don't use a TTY since their hearing isn't bad enough to warrant one?
I use backuppc as well, biggest problem is you can't do a bare metal restore from Win2000/XP.. though you can for Win9x, and if you know what you're doing, Linux.
I usually make an image of the machine with DriveImage XML, and once I have that bare metal restore done, restore whatever files I need from backuppc.
It gets expensive replacing hard drives after a couple years of start/stop cycles.. one of the reasons you'll notice the hard drive setting is set to off by default after Windows 98.
oh, you can buy the OEM copy by itself, because you can resell it again, as long as its not opened. but to legally install it, you need the full system.
There's a circlite that has been in my parents basement for over 20 years now, gets a few hours use a night, but used to be on 5-6 hours a night.
Still servicable, and you can figure out for yourself how many light bulbs this thing has saved, and how much power usage it saves... Something like 25,000 hours this thing has been running
we have 6 of the 42-45W units out in the driveway at work, and they run just fine. they just take about 5 minutes to warm up full in the middle of the winter. haven't had to replace any of them yet.
I removed the dome, and put one of those circlite units in(fluorescent in a round circle).. it looks ok, and because the bulb is spread out, it's not glaringly bright.

Oops, that 150W includes the P4 2.4ghz w/2 HD's and a gig ram of ram that is attached to the UPS as well.
I just swapped out a 22" CRT to a 24" LCD panel, and my usage at the wall went from 210W to 150W
I clearly need a dual or quad core system to handle the flash skyscraper banners on the sides.
lift it, wait for the earth to rotate, put it back down.. you can probably pick up some regenerative braking energy on the way down.

I found out the hard way that Windows 95 wouldn't run on a p4 2.0, even in safe mode.
If its anything like the Intel Inside logo, there's a license agreement you have to agree to, to use that sticker.

Natural gas or oil heating costs a lot less than electric heating though.

xp license does as well(and they lay it out as a full system, not just a board and hard drive), and the office licensing has for a long time.
this new setup came out around sept 2005.
I just did the upgraded flurry and a lightsaber that did 100+ damage each swing.. nothing could stand in my way.
official 32 bit build, I was going to try out the 64 bit build and see what happens.
What about thunderbird, how is development coming on that?
I've already seen issues with Thunderbird 1.5.0.7 on WinXP 64 bit, you can't use the right click send to, mail receipient option.
It's even more fun when you move to the 64 bit version of XP. Toshiba still doesn't have drivers for their photocopier units.
Any other legit all you can listen to services then with the to-go method available as well, for those who want to go legit and need something simple?

Standard cable around here is 10mbit, and for 25 more a month i can get 16mbit.
