also, if you buy the visual studio tools for office, you can make a freely distributable runtime version of Access, so now you don't need to buy Office Pro for every machine that needs Access.
ibm has done the same thing, my friend has a ancient 760ED, and my thinkpad T23 can run off its powersupply as long as I'm careful not to use too much power, or have my battery drained too much.
This is the only way I can tell a cellphone is ringing on someone's desk, so that I can hunt down the owner and tell them to answer it, as I am deaf enough to not be able to hear the ringer.
actually, backuppc can be used to backup to tape as well. BackupPC_archiveHost if i remember right.. and you can point that to a tape drive or write a.tar.gz and then put it on tape... it won't do the hardlinks like a regular backuppc link will, but it's perfect for writing nightly backups to be taken offsite, if your tape drive is large enough.
We have one of the c350's, so far i've only found pdf and tiff.. we're going to configure it eventually to have a scan to printer option, so we can scan something in, and have it print on a remote facilities laserjet.. basically skipping the fax machines.
For all the complaints about the BES, you don't even need it. A simple.forward(or.procmailrc) takes care of getting your "old" address to go to your blackberry.
after nearly 20 years, I downloaded the files for Tunnels of Doom: Quest for the King. And when they "walked" down the stairs, I still had every note in my mind perfect pitch and speed...
Never been able to find the addons besides the ones that came with it.
8 Stellar converters, and time warp facilitator... the computer is never bright enough to bring in dozens upon dozens of small ships to counter... course by the time you can build that advanced of a ship the enemy computer players are going to be thoroughly dominated anyways.
I've played the first many times, never got into it, because the computer will bring in obscene numbers of ships.. if i remember right thousands upon thousands in a battle wasn't unheard of. Very hard to do when my preferred strategy is a few super ships.
I have a set of these, and find I only need full volume plus about 5-10db boost in Winamp's EQ, compared to full volume, full boost and the EQ turned up, with my KOSS PRo4aat's.
One drawback of the ER6i's is getting the damn things out of my ears...
I have a set of Etymotic ER6i's that I use, I find the sound quality to be much better than headphones, and the volume is higher, which helps with my hearing loss. Haven't had a problem with ear wax, my ears are normally very low wax in the first place. Only problem I have is getting the damn things in and out, they go so deep into the ear canal there's not much else in options but to pull it out by the wire.
Wonder if there's anything in the ADA that would allow someone with a hearing disability to download lyrics, similar to how there's exemptions for the blind for audiobooks of copyrighted texts...
i've dropped my 7510 literally hundreds and hundreds of times.. it's holding up remarkably well. I've debated taping the battery cover shut somehow so that it won't fall off.
I've had mine a year, my two year contract isn't up until November, so unless my employer wants to put out the 700 dollars to get a new one, I'm stuck with this until then.

And I can cross that in 12 parsecs.

GalCiv1 reminded me way too much of Moo3.... And what was up with those undefeatable enemy ships?
Master of Orion 2.
MOO3 completely destroyed any fun in playing.
Quantum's new DLT-V4 is about 800 for the drive, and the same cost for media.. just has the drawback of being about a quarter the transfer speed.

Put a 7k60 or similar in it. I did that, and it's MUCH MUCH faster. Also, it doesn't seem to run any hotter than the stock 4200rpm drive.
Make sure you've got 512 meg memory in the system though, not much point in replacing the hard drive if it's still going to swap to disk constantly.
