When you hear Windows, you expect a general purpose operating system. When you hear iPad, you expect a touchscreen that can run whatever apps Apple approves.
I've been a long time smoker. I stopped smoking a while ago. Didn't want to anymore. Honestly no big deal, at least for me. Likewise, it's no big deal for me if someone does smoke.
Now, of course I can see it in places where people who do not enjoy smoke have to go. Public offices and buildings, especially when kids are involved, absolutely off limits when it comes to smoking. I can also see how smoke takes away the experience of a good dinner at a restaurant. Absolutely d'accord.
But frankly, what's wrong with smoking in a bar? I finally found a place that's still sane, where people can get together, enjoy their cocktails in a cultivated atmosphere, some of the people enjoy their cigars, yes, that adds to my experience. I love that. I can go there and simply relax, unwind, have a good and entertaining conversation and spend an evening drinking, talking and enjoying the smell of cigars.
If you don't, well, there's other places to go to. Nobody forces you to go to my bar, it's far from the only one and there are plenty of non-smoking places now.
Why does it have to be mandatory non-smoking? Could anyone explain this to me? Why not allow the owner of the pub, bar or even restaurant to decide whether he wishes to allow smoking? Good ol' capitalist logic tells me that the market dictates that a product that the customer does not want will vanish and the one offering it shall perish, why not let the market sort it out?
If you make an addictive drug expensive, take a wild guess what a poor person (who also happen to be the ones with low education, low impulse control and poor judgement skills) will do.
Hint: It's not going on withdrawal.
If you need further hints, take a look at areas with poor people who're hooked on expensive drugs. Another hint: I'd use binoculars to take that look. Going there isn't advisable.
Of course people will still know English and it will most likely still be used. The point is that it is no longer an official language. That pretty much means that you can neither hand in any documents in English nor will you be offered any in English, at least not officially.
That's not that big a deal for the Germans, Finns or Poles, they'll simply get their documents in German, Finnish or Polish. But how many officials from Ireland really know enough Irish to handle legal documents in that language?
That's fine until he decides that typing "rm user1 user2 user3 user4..." is too much of a hassle and he replaces it with a script that lists the directories and removes them all....blissfully forgetting that there is a ".." directory. Oh.., how many well intended scripts have thee turned into the spawn of hell...
The only time a job is created is when people buy more than a manufacturer can produce with his current capacity. Nobody employs anyone he doesn't absolutely have to.
If you want to look at a job creator, look in the mirror when you spend money on consumer goods.
We're talking about exams of future lawyers. Not only is it highly unlikely they have the required skills, but weaseling out and cheating the system is pretty much part of the curriculum, and hence the qualification test.
Not only the nationalists. The EU was a very welcome scapegoat to push unpopular laws into existence. If there wasn't a soccer championship to hide the voting behind, politicians would just use the old "We don't want to pass those laws, but the evil EU makes us!" spiel.
They may speak English as their first language, but trust me, you understand the English of any Swede or Finn better than theirs.
Old Joke: The main difference between Swedes and Californians? They look? No, they look the same, but the Swedes speak the better English. Same with a lot of Irish.
Not quite.
I can easily avoid Apple and its walled garden, so it doesn't bother me that they build one.
It's way harder with Windows.
It has to do with expectations.
When you hear Windows, you expect a general purpose operating system.
When you hear iPad, you expect a touchscreen that can run whatever apps Apple approves.
Seriously.

Take a wild guess who the heavy smokers are...

Didn't you get the memo? We're so democratic now that reality has to bend to the wishes of the majority.
Guess Fakebook will no longer be celebrities' love child, then?
If Illinois tried to become way more popular than it is now, they would.
Sing with me, kids:
One backup in my bunk
One backup in my trunk
One backup at the town's other end
One backup on another continent
All of them tested and verified sane
now go to bed, you can sleep once again

No. The EU is civilized.
The EU makes your country do it for them.
Just build a roof over the US and to hell with the rest of the planet!
Ok, now what do you have against my hookers? Every single one of them is a really great guy!
That will knock the tripper out, but not end his trip.
Most lawyers I know are well versed in using latex.
They just use it... it's just wrong, ok, let's leave it at that.

Management. Bring your magic 8 ball for all the important decisions and you're set.

The fun part is that, come Brexit, English is potentially not going to be an official language of the EU anymore.
That's going to be interesting.
Still. Small steps, we're talking about a bureaucratic juggernaut, be glad that glacier it's moving at all.
And what good is moving to London if you want to do business in the EU? Why do you think all those banks are fleeing?
You need more storage room, otherwise the procedure can be extrapolated.
