When you go to a webpage you assume the author of the page has created/supplied the content for you to look at free of charge. Everything. Take google for example. I can go to google and look at the maps free, the search free, download free programs, etc. It is all free for me to consume. This person went to a webpage and found that this was available from their publicly accessible webpage. He consumed it.
If you were having an open house, and it was known I could consume whatever I wanted. Then yes, yes I would take your damn microwave. If you didn't want me to take your microwave then you shouldn't have left it where the general public could assume they could take it.
Should they have either asked AT&T if they could take it? Maybe. Should they have sent a email to AT&T to make sure they wanted to give away microwaves? Might have been a good idea. Doesn't negate the fact that AT&T essentially gave away the data.

Yea, I know. Sometimes I wish I had been around for the earlier stuff. Honestly, I think I got the best of it. I got in when things were just getting popular enough to be useful at home, but before the brain numbing effects of crap like facebook.
If there are no jobs cause your allowing companies to send jobs overseas, then there will be poor people who cannot work. Alot of these people WANT to work, but they cannot find a damn job.

It was government assistance that kept me from starving. I now have a job where I pay almost (prob more if you include sales taxes, vehicle taxes, etc )as much in taxes that I was getting from the government.
Or maybe they realised creating a new engine and a whole new set of art assets wasn't strictly necessary to create a new game, which is exactly right. Redoing everything everytime is just a waste of money, time and resources.
I understand your point of view here, but there are exceptions. If you were a follower of Oblivion/Fallout games you would have noticed how dated the engine is in New Vegas. The bugs and issues in the engine keep getting compounded every time they release a new one. Hell, I consider myself lucky if New Vegas doesnt crash my PS3 every 30 min.
I agree, if its not broke dont fix it, but for the love of gamers everywhere, please please please do fix it if it is broken.
Good point, either way its a situation I would try to avoid. Even if it is legal, they could end up with a variety of similar but different OSes to support. (Win XP home, pro, x86, x64, maybe even flavors of vista.) If they all use the same Linux distro it makes things simple.
