I replied to similar comments earlier. Its a layer of security, it cant hurt.
If you'll note I specifically said "It by no means is a great or even good security practice"
That layer may help keep a script kiddie off. Will it keep off someone determined? No, it will not. The more layers in your security the better though.
It really isnt that hard to memorize a good password... come up with a phrase or saying your likely to remember. For our religious friends a bible verse would work well. Then use the first letter of every word, salt it with something meaningful, and you have a password.
Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their country.

I added a . in there so its easy to remember that every 4 letters something has to be added.
Now you have a 19 character password that is memorable and secure. Even better if you mix up the case in that password too.
While you are correct that it isn't failsafe, doesn't negate the fact that good security is layered. Any roadblock you can put up, that doesn't cause you too many problems, is a good roadblock.
Will it stop the attacker? Maybe, Maybe not. It really depends how much the attacker actually knows, and how much hes relying on uB3r l33T WEP crack scripts.
If he doesnt have a large number of devices, AND he doesnt add new devices with any frequency, then adding a few address to a MAC list isnt a bad idea. Unless the neighbor knows what mac to spoof, he wont get on.
It by no means is a great or even good security practice, but in certain situations, it isnt that horrible.
Instead of physically changing things, I wonder if they could use a software tweak to determine if there is a short, and just shut off the power to the connections if there was.
Cooking, Im pretty sure I dont spend more then an hour a day doing that. Cleaning, do that every Saturday.. I do laundry on Saturdays too, it works out well. Grocery shopping I do that Sunday, and I cant spend more then a couple hours a week doing that either.
Perhaps if they didnt have to buy a pair of tvs, consoles, games, and entertainment centers they would be able to buy one copy of the game to play with their friends.
I agree with you 100% percent. I grew up with two brothers, playing split screen games. I also remember playing Halo in a room with 3 xboxs, three TVs, and 10 people playing the game. It was awesome.
Nowadays, I have to own a console, tv, and copy of the game for everyone who wants to play. Its frigging ridiculous. Its like the game manufacturers took it away thinking, they will find plenty of people online to play with. Well Id rather play with my friends and family together. I dont want to play against the 12 year old on the other end.
I found this though if it helps you. Emphasis mine.
"Some MLS's are also able to route between VLANs and/or ports like a common router. The routing is normally as quick as switching (at wirespeed). According to Cisco, Level 3 switches are basically routers that switch based on Layer 3 information , the basic difference being processing speed and/or the way they do the switching; Level 3 switches use ASICs/hardware instead of the CPU/software that a router would."
What kind of military contractor? If you sell sights for guns, I doubt they care what version IP you use. If you sell software or computer hardware, then apparently they are interested. Either that of your just not important enough to know what the military says to your boss.
Whenever I hear this, I wonder what our hunter/gather ancestors did when they were having sex. Kick the kids outta the cave? Or does that just explain how screwed up the human race is?
Why would MS be interested in having you procreate.
If your a nerd with no family, you will prob spend more on your 360 then any nuclear family ever would. My room mate would be a prime example. He must own a few thousand dollars worth of 360 stuff.
OK, well I have seen stories recently on how the amount of money banks are lending is well below average, I dont feel like looking it up though.
Either way.. you could change the last part of either option to saying that the banks burn the money in a pit to heat their hottubs. Option 2, prevents some of the whole living on the streets thing.

Long haired male geek?
Yea if we had anarchy, Id bet my bottom dollar youd be dead before the week was out.

I still have plenty of time to play video games.
PC. Id rather drag the computer over to the TV then buy an extra system, tv and copy of the game.

So anarchy?
Yea, sounds fun.. not.
They may be committing an act of war when they beat me up and take all my stuff. But me and which army will defend me?
Sorry, wasnt trying to say your point was invalid. Ford has plenty of its own screwups, find on road dead.
Routers connect two different networks, a layer three switch doesnt.
Go to google and type in layer three switch.

Ford has made a lot of crappy cars, the Aktek is Pontiac's fault though.
Wonderful though they may look to us, Facebook does what they do to get stinking rich off of us.
Speak for yourself. Neither do they look wonderful to me, nor do they make any money off of me.
Perhaps you could just monitor your child's actions on your computer, so it stops affecting the rest of the free world.
You don't want your child to view porn, good for you. Not my job to make sure it doesn't happen... thats YOUR job.
Give me 100 dollars or I fry your CPU springs to mind. I believe its called ransomware. They didnt used to be able to kill the CPU though.

Give money to the banks -> They keep it.
Give money to people -> They pay the bank. -> The bank keeps it.
In the end either way the bank gets money, and then sits on it. In option two there are less people starving this winter.
What am I missing?
Any idea when the local stores will start carrying Radaway? Id like to stock up.
