I'm not sure if it is the latest or if it plays well with Nvidia, mostly because it has been ~6 months since I last had time to play with it but Debian has a package for 2.23. http://packages.debian.org/unstable/graphics/blend er.html
That is why I like the Explorer seris from Timex. It has an analog with just enough digtal features to be *really* cool and the band is made from cloth with a velcro backing. I've had fewer problems with the band than with any other watch I've ever had.
No Star Office is *not* open source. Open Office is but Open Office is branched off of Star Office Sun could close Star Office at any time they feel like it.
One market that you have overlooked is over-the-road truckers. I fill up at a local truck stop because they have *very* cheap gas. They guys who drive big trucks are loving this tech. Also I have a long commute but I can pick up several FM stations for the whole thing. If not the talk part of this would appeal to me in a big way.
So just save it as a.doc with StarOffice it works ok unless you are doing something odd. The problem with StarOffice is not so much the file formats as it is just that it is slow and buggy.
No although after I wrote that I went out and found one http://packages.debian.org/unstable/non-us/rdeskto p.html I like VNC and have used it in many places for many years. I like many people are stuck in a half and half world and I find myself with admin passwords on many Winders 2000 boxen and using terminal server in Winders 2000 often. VNC can't do it. I'll have to see how well this package does.:)
StarOffice and OpenOffice are simply not there at the moment. But I have at least one client who would switch *today* if there was a verstion of MS Office that just worked right. And several others who would follow them. So while I don't yes it would help the desktop market a lot. Of course the other thing I wish we had was a *good* terminal server client for Linux...

That is why Debian is not a company and that is also why they are so cool. BTW this does not mean that the docs will not be there it just means that you will have to add non-free to your sources list. I know of very few people who don't have non-free in their sources list anyway and so it would not look like a change to a person installing or using Debian. It would all still be there just not in main anymore.
When I saw the title I thought this was a review of William Gibson's great book of the same title. Still looks interesting. Babbage came *very* close to changing the world.
Not so much for gaming but in my last job I talked to many people who wanted "awesome gfx" on their laptops to do presentations using high end (http://www.ptc.com) cad/cam packages. It was just easier in many cases for them to do the presentation on a laptop. That is one of the business reasons for this.
And when we get somewhere where it is going to pause for a time say when woody finally goes stable and then getst to r3 or 4 a DVD would make sense because at the point the apt-get -u dist-upgrade is most likely only going to be a few security packages. But for a testing branch no not at all.:)
This only needs to be on a DVD because there ara packages for everything under the sun. The basic default install is still *very* small. http://markybobdeb.sourceforge.net/elf/ Debian rocks...
it is better to just do a net install for so many reasons. In particular if you are going to track Woody. How long ago did they pull the image for this? Just go here (http://markybobdeb.sourceforge.net/elf/) get the netinst image, burn it, install, then apt-get to update everything.
Also if you look at where all work on crypto is being done nobody is really doing any serious work in the US now and have not been for a long time because of these rules. Yup pointless but that has not stopped them yet.

That is the best damned troll I've seen in a *long* time.
Kudos.
Yes yes it would. many overlook that point but all in all I think it is a good thing.
Many people have already had the same idea google on columbine mod to see how it turned out. Hint: Badly. :)

sysadmins everywhere kill themselves. This just sounds like trouble waiting to happen.
What parts of the install do you have trouble with I use it because it is so easy to install. :)
Given that every single person I know knows this fact I think the original poster might have meant just what you are pointing out. :)

The best book ever written about Alan and how he saved the world. This is a true hero that most people don't know about. Sad very sad.

Falconseye as a client? (http://falconseye.sourceforge.net/)
http://packages.debian.org/unstable/non-us/evoluti on-ssl.html
:)
Works very well with Exchange.

But the netinst image is only 33KB makes a big difference in the not pounding the mirrors dept.
