it's so much easier to rig the "choice" in candidates...
Baloney. There was plenty of choice. Ron Paul competed in the primaries...
Ah, yes, Ron Paul's bid for the Republican nomination... perfect example of the sort of rigging I'm talking about.
If you recall, Ron Paul held a solid 3rd place, despite all the attacks against him. When it came time for the debates, he was ignored by the moderators; when the MSM talked about positioning, they would mention the first, second... and fourth place candidates. Because Ron Paul was in 3rd.
The fact is, those who control the media have a vested interest in keeping "rabble rousers" out of office, and the American people are either too stupid, or complacent, or both, to actually do their own research and vote based on what a candidate actually stands for, as opposed to what the talking heads claim he stands for.
So yea, it's rigged, although I will concede it wouldn't be so easy to rig if not for mass and voluntary voter ignorance.
I've seen quite a few websites that give you the choice as to whether you store the card for future payments or not. Looking up payment history is typically a different process than looking at the card information that is stored directly in your user account records.
Like Amazon. People voluntarily giving info is not what I'm talking about, obviously.
At the extreme, you could use your main credit card to purchase multiple one-time use visa gift cards. Then your card information doesn't match between websites, and you can expose the full card number of a now empty card with no negative consequences.
That's actually not a bad idea, presuming you buy the cards somewhere other than Target.. or Walmart, or K-Mart, or any of the other retailers who hang onto your information without telling you about it (at least, not until after someone breaks in and steals it).
Take the Syria conflict, for example - President Obama was preparing to use our soldiers and pilots as the "rebels" private air force, until the public became aware that said "rebels" were actually members of Al Qaeda. So, yes, intelligence averted the US entering yet another conflict, as well as arming our own enemies again - but it was the government who wanted to start the war in the first place.
don't let companies such as PayPal and GoDaddy store your credit card information.
I wonder, does Mr. Hiroshima realize that consumers have little to no (closer to the latter) control over what a corporation does with our credit card info once we make a purchase with them?
Does he know of some nuclear option the rest of us aren't aware of?
The vote conformed to the polling data well enough in 2012 to predict the outcome in 50 out of 50 states. There is no evidence that the vote was rigged. Besides, the guy supported by the 1% LOST. The voters got what they wanted (or at least what they thought they wanted).
I do suppose there's no need to go through all the effort to rig voting machines, when it's so much easier to rig the "choice" in candidates...
In the immortal words of the Prophet:
I'll show you politics in America. Here it is, right here.
'I think the puppet on the right shares my beliefs.' 'I think the puppet on the left is more to my liking.'
'Hey, wait a minute, there's one guy holding out both puppets!'
The 2012 US election turnout was around 58%, with only three states having less than 50% turnout (Oklahoma, Texas and W. Virginia).
Are these numbers independent-third-party-verified, or are we taking the election commission at their word? Trusting the foxes with the henhouse, so to speak.
While there could be plenty of vote tampering, doing it on that scale would involve many thousands of people and would require balls the size of an aircraft carrier.
Two things the feds happen to have already.
Pardon me for not wanting to trust that a government who claims it has the right to kidnap citizens and hold them, indefinitely, without charges, to run a truly free and fair election.
erm the link you posted had nothing to do with Tea Party or Libertarians unless you are implying that TP and Libertarians are "Right Wing Extremists". It seems you are lumping in TP and libertarians with the folks at StormFront and the like.
Not so much me, as the Department of Homeland Security.
Regardless of what you preferred media outlet tells you, a group of people who protest armed very much is a group the feds want to keep an eye on. To try and imply otherwise indicates intellectual dishonesty, ignorance, and/or good ol' fashioned bias.
So, your turn - how about that citation I requested?
By which I mean: well over 99% of the movement relative to the Earth that you will do in your life will be in 2 dimensions.
You realize elevation exists, right? So no, you don't move in 2 dimensions, you move in 3. All the time. Whether you notice or not.
We think of our world in maps (2 dimensional).
I take it you don't know what topography is, then?
when we look at a multiple-player interaction (like a battle), we rarely consider "above" and "below" as valid relative positions on a large scale.
... nor do you know anything about combat. You might not consider elevation in those circumstances, but I assure you, people who actually know how to wage war very much do.
And there's not as many feelgood stories about Chinese refugees being picked up by the Coast Guard while swimming across the ocean on a raft made out of an old Chevy to escape their homeland.
"Feelgood," not so much; when it comes to Chinese illegal immigration, you get more stories like this one.
My problem isn't with playing video games (I'm a big gamer myself). It's with his insulting and dismissing comment about pro sports (which I also watch).
Oh, well, then a childish personal attack was definitely the right move to make, wasn't it? What better way to make your point and endear the audience than to insult someone instead of actually saying what's bothering you?
Someone call the NFL and tell them they are soon to be history, when this is the sort of thing people get excited about, you know a bunch of sweaty, overpaid mugs ain't got a chance.
I have to admit, I'd much rather spend 10 minutes watching an epic, simulated space battle, than waste 6 hours watching a bunch of juiced, over-paid prima donnas chase a weird-looking ball around.
The most publicized PUBPAT success so far was, in conjugation with the ACLU, getting patents on naturally-occurring genes overturned.
Well, considering that math is naturally occurring, and in fact is pretty much the basis of all things in nature*, getting software patents thrown out altogether should be a trivial matter, right?
This is even more true in other countries. When I was in New Zealand, I couldn't find a single person that had even been to the other island! Many had never left the area around their major city.
I'm going to try and remember that, the next time some foreign entity starts blathering on about how 'Muricans are unique in our lack of global understanding...

That is the situation I am referring to.
Intelligence is critical... to avert wars.
Right, but not in the way you think.

So, the feds performed surveillance.
I disagree with them doing it, but that's hardly the same thing as putting the members on a terrorism watch list.
Congratulations, you've committed the same hyperbolic sin you lambasted me for. Hypocrisy, thy name is andydread.

As a fan of JDM cars, I assure you I've seen greater horrors than you in that regard :)
As the former owner of a JDM Corolla I built when I was in high school, I highly doubt it.
The high-compression engine was cool, but the body... geez, what was I thinking???

Dominate the sky, dominate the battlefield.
If, as a national government, you decide...
FTFY. Most of us, especially those who were born after the Cuban Missile Crisis, have no problem with either Cuba or the people living there.
Last time I checked it was the Occupy people that got put on a terrorist watch list not tea party of liberterian types
A) [citation needed]
B) You should check again.
C) "Tea Party" != Libertarian.
That is all.
And there's not as many feelgood stories about Chinese refugees being picked up by the Coast Guard while swimming across the ocean on a raft made out of an old Chevy to escape their homeland.

Even in a somewhat broken democratic republic, it takes more than the 1% to vote in the 1%...
Unless your election turnout is <1%.
Or, you know - rigged voting mechanisms.
I used to be against the idea of "verified voting," but with the mass adoption of black box voting machines, I think I've changed tack on that one.
My problem isn't with playing video games (I'm a big gamer myself). It's with his insulting and dismissing comment about pro sports (which I also watch).

Aren't there some billy goats somewhere you should be harassing?
As beings raised in a mostly 2 dimensional plane,
Uh... come again?

Amazing that there aren't any supercharger stations on the I-44/I-40 corridor. I'll bet that would have cut their trip time down significantly.
Did anyone seriously think the cold wouldn't be an issue? People need to get out of California and see what the rest of the world is like.
Merely pointing out that a world exists outside California is enough to blow a fair amount of minds, I'm afraid.
Even worse, you can extrapolate that to include, "outside 'Murica" for a large portion of the populace.
Thing is, a number of people have indicated that they have used third-party cables and those have solved the issue.
Does using a third-party cable void the warranty, or violate the EULA?
Funky cold Medina, did I just say "violate the EULA" when talking about a fucking car? That is kind of depressing...
Really? This is the first submission I've seen that includes articles from greencarreports.com that aren't completely apologetic to Tesla.
Not to mention, just because you don't like the facts the news presents doesn't mean it's not news.
