I really liked Old Man's War series and heard this one was similar. I am almost finished with it after a two evenings reading. I have enjoyed it, but it seems more like a overview of things instead of being super detailed. I will see how the second book goes, but right now I prefer John Scalzi's and John Ringo's works more than this.
You guys seem to think that this is bad. I was in BestBuy the other day to buy a new keyboard and mouse. I decided to look up reviews while i was standing there and noticed that the price on the BestBuy website beat the one in the store for the keyboard by $30, the mouse by $15, and the mouse pad I was also grabbing by $5. I HAD TO ASK THEM TO PRICE MATCH THEIR OWN DAMN WEBSITE!
I move to Linux mint because of this. I decided I would prefer to have a to fiddle with my computer more than dealing with windows 10 "features".
I refused to upgrade from windows 7 to 10 on my new skylake computer. I currently use linux for about 90% of my computing. If windows 10 manages to force its self onto me I will just uninstall.
You guys are all missing something important. What if it is scanning the same plate 10-100 times while it is in view of the camera. It didn't say unique plates. It has to scan every plate in view every scan or it would miss some.
Umm, how about a motorcycle throttle. Roll toward yourself for acceleration, roll away for reverse, and neural position while tires are not moving is park mode. Could be done with an accelerator pedal too, but that could be a safety issue the way I envision pushing and pulling on the pedal and might mess up the top of fancy shoes.
Create a schedule based turn by turn directions type system waiting on confirmation from the user. I think an Ipad with a nice kid safe cover and maybe a shoulder strap would be a good idea. Below is my idea of how it would work out.
You setup schedule items for the different tasks that need to be completed at certain times.
The Ipad dings/vibrates/flashes or does something to get attention of the user. Text comes up on the screen asking a basic question. "It is 12pm would you like to go have lunch?" then you have yes / no buttons below the question. The next question is "where are you currently located?" you put options for all the areas where your user is likely to be room / common area / dinning hall / etc / etc Then you can display a map with a highlighted route and give turn by turn directions on how to get from their starting point to the end point. "Exit your room and turn right." with an "OK" confirmation button "Have you reached point 1 yet?" buttons for yes/no "Continue down the hall way until you reach the nurses station." with another confirmation button. "Have you reached the nurses station(or point 2, however you want to name your waypoints) yet?" etc etc "You have reached the dinning hall" with a "done" confirmation
You could also have where they could select destinations when it is not scheduled, but this would be something that had to be learned so i am not sure how to do that. If you can schedule everything then I guess that is OK.
I think having a map and turn by turn directions with waypoints marked on the map would be something that could be used without having to learn how to do it. You could even include instruction to tap the buttons so that all they would have to do is be annoyed by the device enough to look at the screen then trust it to follow its instructions. I think this solution has merit because it is very straight forward and not technically difficult to do. Writing an app to do this should be a breeze you could probably even hire a contractor off the internet (or a CS student) to do it for a few hundred dollars.
I had a nicer post worked out but changed my options while in the preview and it was deleted. So please forgive anything i am missing now or spelling mistakes.
I just had an interesting idea.
If there is a disparity in the diversity of an industry, then when beginning university we should mandate that equal portions of people attend each major. We already trying to do it to businesses. Why not extend it to the university?
It doesn't make any sense. I think businesses are so money hungry these days they do not care about race. Most will pick the most qualified individual for the lowest pay they can find them.
Don't blame industry because of differing cultural interest in university.
The next model will have the biggest notch. It will go all the way across to hide the cameras into the bezel.
The problem I see is the muscle doesn't do shit without a vacuum system and they are not including that weight in their calculations.

That is what he said. "Loose their shit," as in shit themselves.
Sigh. After all these years of avoiding that, you finally got me, and at work no less.
I am not sure when 20 Gb/s speeds were slow, but I guess it is limited in length.

I don't know. That seems like twice the problem.
A town can't have a negative number of people. Therefore, it would be stuck with a maximum of 40 more people.

I have been clean for 4-5 years and I still miss the arenas in WOW. It is not something that ever goes away....
Yeah, i am in the pool on vacation too.
