Yeah I've heard people say LOL too. What made me cringe is when something was REALLY funny, so instead of laughing, they actually went "Loooooooooooool", holding a pause on the o sound during pronouciation.
any FM radio has to have some sort of antenna to receive the signals
WHERE WILL YOU PUT THIS ON AN iPHONE??
My symbian has an FM radio built in, the antenna is the earphones which you attach to it. You need the earphones to listen to the radio, even if you put it on speaker.
If you've got enough money, you can get any laws you want passed. Whenever some pro-consumer anti-large corporation law gets suggested, it gets shot down before you know it - anyone up for some Net Neutrality?
A) Sorry, but I don't speak lawyer. Last time I was corrected on this I got the impression that a 'copyright' is there to protect a company image while 'patent' is there to protect what the company invents.
B) Reverse engineering is only illegal because you're doing it on something patented. Reverse engineering the Linux kernel is legal.
"Capable of decoding CC captions" =/= "Must have CC captions".
Youtube has CC caption support, all it needs is someone to put in the captions for each video. But that's neither youtube's fault, nor is it youtube's responsability. If youtube had no way of adding CCs, then it would infringe it in that regard.
If you went through all the trouble of inventing say - the google search engine algorithms - then I shouldn't have the right to nick your sourcecode and use it myself without paying you for it.
In that case its fair.
When its not fair is when you lock down an 'idea'. Now in other things it makes sense, but in software, where even a single idea 'A way of sorting lists' can have tons of different implementations (ex: bubble sort, quick sort, trees etc...) in software its not a very fair or good idea.
The main problem is the government not moving with the times - and the corportations ready to snap on it for their own monopolies.
Where shall we begin? Oh... I guess this will kill Youtube or significantly stifle it, since all programming will be required to have CC,
Requires that apparatus that receives or plays back video programming and has a picture screen of any size be capable of decoding closed captioning,
Read your own quote again. It stays its REQUIRED to be capable of decoding CC. Youtube already has support for CC, so youtube is 100% done in this regard.
The problem is that with the advent of netbooks (and now tablets?) its less about having a lot of power, and a lot about portability. So for many people its more worth it to use the 'more lightweight' XP instead of Windows 7. Speaking about myself, I dual boot XP with Ubuntu - I have a copy of Windows 7 but I am not even considering installing it.
So I think by moving off XP and attempting to extinguish it - microsoft is losing on the 'netbook' market.
But it'll still be a while before someone sues for an exorbant amount of damages because of "psychological damage" and "lost job because I got angry at teasing and punched someone".
And then money will come out of police department and into someone's pocket. And then 'everyone' is happy.
Its because you're shoving them into one equation. The scope of your 'working out' is to solve whatever is in that equation so the correct answer to 1+2 = 3 is 3 = 3 true.
This is a bit weird. I mean how bad is the lack of understanding? Bit hard to follow the article to be honest, is it just because of the 'everything in one line equal to each other' ? Or does it also include more complicated stuff like "1 = Number" ?

What is the point of spending time, money and effort designing something, when anyone can copy the design and produce their own?
If anyone could just plagerise your work, there is less incentive to do any work.
Note I'm not speaking about SOFTWARE patents (those are rubbish), nor do I agree with patents on life-saving research (such as pharmacy)
Had to be asked

Patents, at face value are required.

Kinda like the copyright laws.

I've heard that most browsers come with a zoom feature so you can get print as large as you want.
I beg your pardon?
Don't you mean "Large Corporations abusing a system designed to protect inventors and using it to push forward a monopoly?"
Its less about news and more about "Making fun of news"
I'm sorry, you can't research in that field because I already patented the entire branch of science.
Your method of using X to view Y goes against my patent called "The use of X in area Z". Sorry for the inconvienance have a nice day.

The upcoming version won't work on Windows XP - which is still very very popular.
Its like they're not even trying...
Now if I want to send a private messages to my militant friend who is going to blow something up in India, I encrypt it BEFORE I send it.
Problem solved.
In other news, the sky is blue*, fire is hot and the earth is round.
*on earth from earth.
You'll still be able to do that in the future, just you'd get sued doing it.
But it'll still be a while before someone sues for an exorbant amount of damages because of "psychological damage" and "lost job because I got angry at teasing and punched someone".
And then money will come out of police department and into someone's pocket. And then 'everyone' is happy.
And NOW I finally understand it. To add an example of my own [1+2+3+4+5]
1 + 2
= 3 + 3
= 6 + 4
= 10 + 5
= 15
I blame overuse of calculators if that's the case.
Its because you're shoving them into one equation. The scope of your 'working out' is to solve whatever is in that equation so the correct answer to
1+2 = 3
is
3 = 3
true.
Whenever someone invented the trademark to protect the rights of the inventor - did they ever think it was going to end up with cases like this?
This is a bit weird. I mean how bad is the lack of understanding? Bit hard to follow the article to be honest, is it just because of the 'everything in one line equal to each other' ? Or does it also include more complicated stuff like "1 = Number" ?
That''s what actually made google the most popular.
You had competitors who were cramming all they could into a page - then google came out with their "Banner + two buttons" and that was it.
I used to use Altavista before.
Found this to be a brilliantly written piece of work from someone who knows what he's saying.
