    No it is easy to build rocket engines, dealing with all of the retarded govt regulations is hard.

    I have what I think is a innovative design for a new engine but I cannot try it. It requires aluminum powder and you have to sell your soul to the govt and jump through a thousand hoops just to get something simple like aluminum powder. If I even attempted to build a test engine the damn feds would probably be all over me accusing me of attempted terrorism.

    Sort of like the one that I seen yesterday that says that linux cannot scale as good as unix. Nevermind it currently holds the TPC-C record. As for security does Windows have the flexibility to run port knocking? Can I modify all of the port settings for all of the services in Windows?

    One of the biggest strenghts in linux is it's flexibility. Windoze lacks the flexibility required to create a diverse environment.

    I hereby declare that Windows security is not as good as Linux.

    No actually I think quite the opposite is true. I don't believe that ./ folks condone copyright theft at all. Personally I would dime out somebody to the BSA in a heartbeat if I thought they where illegally copying windows or any other commercial software. Copyright theft hurts both Open Source software adoption rates and it hurts corporate profits. If yo wish to run something other than open source software then I am cool with that but I insist that you purchase it at the full price.

    We want to make sure that we do focus on the SMB (small/medium business) market.

    I have a Red Hat certification but I am unable to install it anywhere. I get install jobs because of the price and they priced themselves completely out of the SMB
    market.

    When I bid a job against the local MS junk pushers I under cut them typically by as much as one tenth the cost. Red Hat is way to costly in this cut throat environment to compete with small business server so I don't even consider it.

    Man I have bought a bunch of these boxes. I normally buy the cheap 200 dollar not loaded model and throw fedora core on them and give them to our customers. In the two years now of running them I only had one that had the power supply give up the smoke. For non power users that just want to surf the web and do a occasional spread sheet the box is more than fast enough.

    I had someone I knew that asked me to take a look at his redhat box over at EV1. I told him I would as soon as it is at a different provider. There is not a single EV1 customer getting anything out of me.

    All I hear out of this guy is a bunch of hot air. If he was such a good guy he would not be involved in any Microsoft Fun Reports. He also would not have been touring the country with his lips attached to the ass of SCO's CEO .

    I am a sysadmin at a company that will probably be buying their preloaded linux systems. Now you asked a interesting question but there is a easy answer. If I buy the box preloaded I am sure the hardware is compatible with linux. Besides we just make a single line entry to the inittab and it becomes a thin client. This way I don't even have to bother loading the system with a minimum x environment, let HP do the work.

    I admin nearly 500 linux thin client desktops now and I can tell you that it is more than ready. Tell the first graders that where playing frozen bubbles and potato head on one of my installations today. Tell the shop guys on the manufacturing floor that use a linux desktop every day, we had to even tell them how to use a mouse. Tell it to my family who never has to call me again with broken machine infected with spyware or virus's. Tell it to my friend who is about as smart as a fence post.

    If these people can run it anyone can it just takes a professional or manufacturer to install
    and set it up correctly.

    I admin nearly 500 machines and get perhaps at most two support calls a week. Not that my fine troll's is low TCO.

    If we used something that can work reliably like the
    Russian capsules perhaps we would not need to worry about rudders. A rudder is for a airplane a space capsule does not need one therefore not jepordizing the safety of the crew by the use of overly complex control systems. The shuttle is a flawed design, bring back the capsules and move on with the show.
