    Lol I used to work for BT and several times other colleagues asked so what do you work on at Martelsham - The UK's Bell Labs. I actually worked in a generic System engineering team in london and not BT R&D

    yes but if you move from Georgia to California you get California wages to compensate for the higher cost of living

    Um you know there are Irish referred to as "Black" Irish - and the late Phil Linnot was definitely black - and then you get into which tradition he is from (Fenian or Prody)

    Medicine and Law is fat better paid on average than tech - it might be that bright females take a look at the ROI and chose on that basis.

    You know that the US army probably would courtmatrtial a quartermaster who "lost" ammo to a civilian - That is probably what he meant getting caught with black market army goods would also be the end of your job and good-buy to ever getting a security clearance again

    Though if I was a contractor (non mercenary) in IRAQ or Afghanistan id expect my employer to pony up for practice ammo nothing to excessive enough for 2 or 3 hours practice a week in both Pistol and Assault Rifle.

    should split the national security away from the FBI and have the FBI just as a civilian federal police force and have something like MI5

    Well I am sue the MI5 has a list (that they share with the FBI/CIA/NSA) of American politicians who where a bit to friendly to the PIRA and probably a few of the Ultra Unionist side as well.

    Its not unknown for politicians to spy for the opposition John Stone House MP for example so over the course of the cold war its probably a good bet that at least some congressmen and senators where agents - thats what Anna Chapman and the other KGB sleepers where doing trying to make contacts with influential people.
