    You have some points but the USA has sucked at "preventative security" for along time going back to the black tom incident during WW1 - the DHS do seem to have made a few poor choices maybe the Security Service (MI5) offered advice based on UK experience and it wasn't taken.

    protecting your CNI probably doesn't have as much emphasis as it should -possibly cos its expensive.

    what happens if theirs a fire and the local volunteer fire department don't know what the hell is in those pipes - not every one has the luxury of your own in house fire crews like we had at CIT.

    Sometimes Goolers show then naivete in strange ways er there are long established standards for pipe colors for for a very good reason - its so you know what the fuck is running through them.

    I was talking about CREWS, Meson Guns, culture displacers and other weapons in this case and if a cheap fighter can carry a cheap weapon that can kill a capital ship then it costs in to use that - Exocets in the Falklands war is a good example.

    Actually no I hit a traffic calming bump in a badly lit side street in London and obviously knocked my self out and gave my self minor concussion. when I got home in the morning I had bruising a blood all down on side of my face - i had not noticed until then.

    Sounds just like Holbourn in London i have see 4 cyclists run a red light at 20+ MPH at a busy junction inside of a minute.

    And helmets prevent concussion and minor brain damage from bike crashes - I speak from experience having been had concussion from falling off in London.

    missiles don't replace everything if your PD systems are good or if your tech is sufficiently advanced eg a culture Rapid Offensive Unit would probably zap any missiles fired at in microseconds.

    Reading is a dump - could have worked in the 70's Milton Keynes as its between Oxford and Cambridge and has Cranfield 5 miles away.

    Do what i do and commute Bedford to St Pancras is 35 mins on the fast train I catch the 7:300 and in the office in Holbourn by 8:45
