Now I'm only barely finishing the first one before it's time to swap batteries.
Try this: run down your battery all the way. then charge it all the way. then run it all the way down without stopping. repeat once or twice. this is called "reconditioning" the battery and should improve the life somewhat. or not.
The technology companies, which have the music industry's blessing, are encouraging those who download music to use new proprietary software formats that make the audio sound significantly better but also make it harder to share copyright-protected songs
For me, it is hard to discern the difference between an audio CD and a MP3 compressed with at least 128Kbits. I dont see any company "weaning" the massive MP3 community into switching formats, especially since many people have already imported some/most/all their audio collection into MP3. This will be yet another reason for me to stick with Win98/ME. I predict that the launch of XP will be a bit dissapointing for MS, and this is one of the many reasons why. Of course that is assuming that the average consumer who goes into the store will have heard of the drawbacks that XP will bring them...
I understand that MS et all are just trying to lend a helping hand with copy protection technologies, but i dont see it MP3 going away anytime soon...
just my $.02

The last version of Windows 95 to be released, shortly before the release of Windows 98, is commonly known as "version C": It was OEM only, and contained support for USB capability. It sucked just as bad as all the other releases of Win95;)
Well put, scharkalvin. I would add that sometimes even software upgrades are unnecessary. Is there really all that much more functionality for the average user to move from office 97 to office 2000? Albiet that jump requires more hardware (cpu, ram) for it to run smoothly It just looks a little prettier with a few extra features thrown in. I would put forth that it is quite possible (and may already be comming true) that ther will continue to be a decline in computer sales for quite sometime, until the next killer app that everyone wants to use comes out (and i dont mean divx). Although when it's time for me to build the dream machine so i can create musical masterpieces, i'll be on the upgrade highway baby!
and cases start to get a yellow tinge even if they are cleaned regularly
oh crap, my computer is dusty, better replace it straight away!!
I disagree with some of the claims made about replacing computers. We've got a woman here running a 486-66 and we just ignore her, that way we don't have to buy her a new PC.
Our motto is, If it still works, dont fix it. or somesuch...
I find it interesting that the earth was once explored by people in ships sailing around it, and that it could be possible that the universe will be explored by people in ships sailing through it. Watch out when you get to the end of the universe, i hear there's a great restaurant there;)
I really think that this will be a good addition to a great game, adding 2 char. classes and all, I just wish they'd add more than just an Act 5, however i did hear a rumor that you'll be able to play it at 800x600?
i cant wait!!

in 1999 I saw the Multimedia Opera "Monsters of Grace" by Philip Glass / Robert Wilson. They used a 3d Movie (with the glasses!) and the Philip Glass Ensemble played along with it. Very cool.

This is reminiscent of the discs that were on "A Clockwork Orange". hmmm life imitates art, except its got florescent clear plastic packaging why does everything hafta have florescent clear plastic these days?
I disagree... It is more likely that since most computers run Windows and Mac that they dont want to pay a guy to sit on his ass waiting for that one call a day from a Linux (etc.) user. Also, If your smart enough to install linux perhaps they assume that you are smart enough to fix any problems yourself?
It is not where we were that counts, but where we are going...
Unfortunatley You may have a hard time getting residential service through them from now on. I have an RADSL 1.5/384 through Capu.net, it is the best line I've ever had. If you check the website http://www.capu.net they no longer list Residential Services...
But you could beg for it...
only complaints so far from me include inabillity to use my "scrolling wheel" on my mouse, as well as some pages loading/unloading with double images. The images straighten themselves out after a second though. Also too many words all over the place. shopping business channells bizjournal? wtf is that? other than that it looks kinda cool. can't wait for the final release! --fohat

A Robot/AI must must obey the agents of the US government whatever their orders may be.
