    it's pretty unprofessional now-a-days to use the phrase "Windowze". We gave up that fight, and now we're just calling it "Windows" who is this "we " you speak of.

    That my friend is one of the greatest problems with Mac/Linux adoption, IT boys are affraid of loosing "power" and are not willing to learn anything new. I speak as a IT boy who supports both Mac and linux servers, but I learned to loose that fear and jump right in . I find it to be much easier to maintain a OS X server or a linux server than to maintain Windowze ....

    the word license as you so correctly spelled can indeed mean a lot of things, it could even mean free license... still , my point remains the same ... what would you to to a OS that has no updates , at least not for free ? and you already payed for the software ... (but not the support contract) Will you install OpenSolaris on production servers? i sure will just install linux ... or some bsd or something, this will be a major issue for a company that relies on solaris.

    it may be so ... but .... Quoting Oracle's web page ...     yes and as you said .... "If you are using Solaris (not OpenSolaris) then you are paying for a platform that has...." do i have to pay twice ? Once when i Buy the OS , AND to have updates? sounds freaky to me !!!!

    right... does Grandma know how to install OSX ??? I Belive this to be a myth... granma will call tech support even to update Firefox .... wanna bet? The whole FUD thing is quite ridiculous... If grandma is capable of installing OSX and updating firefox i bet she will be able to install Ubuntu and update Firefox ... I don't get what is there SO dificult in linux that grandma will not be able to use it ?

    they can always install ubuntu (or whatever linux distro) on their laptops/computers and continue to receive updates for firefox or am i wrong ?
