From the article it appears that he is being charged with hacking the school website in order to upload the video, not being charged for preserving the content for authorities.

That being said, I still think the relative sentences are really out of whack, and that rapists (even juveniles) should absolutely be more harshly punished than hackers who do not hack in a way that causes significant harm.

  4. Re:How does it work through walls? on German Scientists' Visible Light Network Hits 3Gbps · · Score: 3, Interesting

FTA: The cheap LEDs, which could for example be placed on the ceiling or in room lights and tend to have coverage of around 10 meters, essentially blink on and off extremely fast to transmit the data (not visible to your naked eye). This would make it extremely useful for short range and high-speed networks that may also require something more secure than wifi (i.e. light doesn’t travel so well through solid walls etc.). So it IS the room lighting, and yes, it is not meant for long range wireless. But you could link everything in a room to it.

I'm normally against DHS and TSA, but from what I've read they are not changing what they do at all, and that these stops were common for a very long time. The only change is that DHS is involved instead of just highway patrol, and that drivers are being asked to report "see something say something" which is a silly slogan.

See, all of that CO2 is coming from decomposing plant materials, that in extermeley short term was probably a tree or something that ate a plant. What did that plant do to become so wonderful that it can decompose into CO2, it removed a comparable amount of CO2 from the atmosphere.

Human activity involves the burning of oils and coal in which carbon has been sequestered efficiently for long term (millions of years) out of this cycle. In this way any change to the system comes largely from human influences.
