Yeah, I support the idea, but I won't be eating this if the American Food Industry is going to be growing this stuff. We're too lax on labeling, too focused on cost and profit, and not careful enough about consumer health over here. who knows what kind of ingenious additives they'll throw in the mix to further engage our taste buds or cut costs at the expense of our health?
Funny that I knew that the most simplistic, mindless interpretation of the info in this article would be put forth by deniers. But it moves into the realm of sadness that it would be comment 1 & 2.
There is no one concept of Freedom. My freedom from gun violence is someone's loss of freedom to own guns. freedom is defined by whoever dominates the political process and/or courts at the time.
Accounting for more students means higher attendence which means more government money I believe. I'm not sure how the cameras are going to help that, though.
The lens through which we could be seeing this issue is facinating. We on slashdot see "Texas" teachers and we probably think they're retard conservatives. While, generally teachers in conservative southern states are viewed as crazy-ass liberals. It must be hell teaching in Texas, regardless of a teacher's ploitical leanings.
That's great, but saying that C prevents cancer, and saying that it has a higher cure rate than chemo and cancer combined are two different things. I'd like to see the evidence for that claim myself..
I've had bariatric surgery. I take a regimin of special vitamin supplements because I don't absorb food as well. Still, I'm not as regular on my vitamins as my doctor would like and I'm not having problems. I just make sure to eat a variety of types of foods that meet my strict dietary guidelines. I'm still losing a ridiculous amount of weight weekly.
They exist, and can scan 10000 plates an hour, if I remember correctly. The police here in GA sometimes sit by the road at highway interchanges and scan plates, and pull over car with expired plates. Where you used to get away with renewing your registration at the end of the month, you can now be caught one day after your birthday.
PC users are technically literate compared to WebTV users. Imagine an 80-year old who doesn't know how to use a computer mouse but loves his WebTV to death. Someone I know is currently trying to teach this person how to use a mouse and the guy simply *cannot get it* no matter what he tries. He repeatedly picks up the mouse to tries to scrape it along instead of properly sliding it and repositioning the mouse at the end of the mouse pad to continue movement. It's amazing to hear.
They were/are more like websurfing 'consoles'. Comparatively slow, with clunky interfaces - a fair number of people still use webtv. They never used a computer and now have to learn since these services are going away.
Um, yeah - conservatives didn't say a word about the Patriot act back then, and NOW they're outraged when Obama is continuing what Bush did (and is actually restricting the use of the data)? They're all about "government overreach" but actively work against abortion and preventing marriages between consenting adults? They are all for deficit reduction and against government spending when its the democrats who have to clean up their overspending and financial messes and get the economy working? Yeah, you must be kidding here.
Your idea is that wealth is 'taken' from majority and 'given' to the wealthiest has no basis in reality in the free market. One goal of a corporation is to minimize costs to produce. Lowering wages is one way to do this. the ultimate goal is to pay the lowest wage possible to get you product produced. How is that not transferring wealth?
A car, TV, and cell phone are prerequsites if you don't WANT to be poor in America.
Wages for the majority of americans have indeed been declining since Reagan, and the inequality only grows. The $800 TV's (bought on credit, not with cash) should most definitely be in our living rooms: we used to get by on one salary, now we need two salaries in order to live check-to-check after paying for two cars for transportation (due to poor transit), childcare, healthcare, and high costs of shelter. It's not a better standard of living when we need to use credit cards to pay bills or eat. The higher productivity of today should be benefitting everyone and truly increasing our standard of living- it's only benefitting the wealthy right now.
You're right, I'd rather have a significant number of impressionable American kids taught life skills by their parents, of which about 40% believe the earth is only 6000 years old and think Obama has a secret plan to sabotage America and transform into the antichrist like some kind of werewolf or something at some point in the next 3.5 years.

You mean there STILL is. This isn't new.
you will be burned at the steak

If they couldn't find the students with RFID tags, I doubt they will with cameras.

That's what my wife said last night.

Point being, both entities are recording the info, and there is no en masse use of it.
The postal inspectors are a law enforcement entity, unlike those companies.
We admitted we don't mind being spied upon when we made this legal via the Patriot act.
I'm pretty sure fedex and ups do this.

We can start with science, math, and common sense. And ability to filter out noise like the content of your last post.
they are also preparing....the bigfoot attacks
