what's the motivation...Who's gonna go, with what money...what makes you think we'll do space travel
Answer
Zero-G sex/ porn movies/ any deviant endeavor relating to the baser needs of humanity. There's money out there, lots of money. Whether the powers that be allow anyone (other than themselves) to go as well as remain is still questionable.
It seems to me, it should be pronounced "punked" First it's announced that the shuttle is retiring. Then it's announced, "commercial spaceport". The same people involved in the shuttle (and support systems) are now involved in the commercial aspects. Sure doesn't sound like Virgin Galactic to me. What is replacing the shuttle? When will it be operational? 1 million $ buys how many politicians? Who's doing the investment portfolio, Goldman-Sachs? This really sounds bogus. When this too fails, will the taxpayers be suckered into bailing this out also?
There seems to be more to this than we are led to believe. Political issues in the workplace never look at both sides equally. In time the truth will be out.
Every American has the right and (some say) responsibility to speak out and express their political views. Entertainers are just as much American citizens as anyone else. Not only do I say it is OK, I think it is the great thing about this country. Also, the songs they sing are their property. They should have control over who does or does not use it.
Absolutely, but blurring the entertainment and political lines has unintended consequences, thus this discussion forum.
Hah! Yeah, nothing political about those topics:-/
You're right, they are political however, no political party has exclusivity to the issue. Also, look at the blowback from the comments made by Natalie Maines, the Dixie Chicks took plenty of heat for it.
When I hear Democrat, I think crook. When I hear Republican, I think crook. When I hear Independent, I think crook that ain't gotta chance.
Parody and fair use is all well and good as long as it's for entertainment. Use for political rhetoric is another thing all together. Just as I believe that entertainers and singers have no business spouting partisan views. My belief is that these entertainers are singing songs or reading scripts. If entertainers wish to speak out using their celebrity, it should be impartial, like poverty, diabetes, hunger, clean environment, stop killing whales. As to political views, they should be expressed like everyone else, at the ballot box. Leave the political rhetoric to the politicians, it's all crap anyway, their voting records are the only truth worth monitoring.
but the repercussions of being caught are severe. There's not much use for a merchant who is banned from docking at port
And how the repercussions are severe. Just look what happened in the Cuban blockade. Anonymous containerization protects the guilty, creates plausible deny-ability and closing the door after the horse has bolted syndrome.
If video games are to blame for the violence, what about movies like: Friday the 13th. Saw Halloween Scream Nightmare on Elm Street. Need I continue? Enacting these frivolous laws will open a real bag of worms. I can see motion picture lawyers scrambling to ensure their clients are not dragged down as well.
What happens when it is revealed that this whole affair is nothing more than a marketing ploy. Who goes to jail/ to the unemployment line/ the lawyers? This issue is far from over. Stay tuned for episode 2.
It's funny that Eliot Spitzer got tossed from his job for screwin' hoores on his own time and with his own money. The reason? Spitzer was on top (no pun intended) of the wall street debacle before it was fashionable. When bringing this information to the government, federal laws from 1865 were invoked stating that Washington had jurisdiction over the issue. Washington did nothing (thanks george and dick) The official response discredited Spitzer thereby eliminating him as a presidential hopeful
Playboy sucks,(no pun intended). The real porn industry is privately held. No stocks. No dividends. No prospectus for investors. No reliable profit/loss statements. However, some major corporations invest in porn since it shows steady returns during bear and bull markets. To know more, get into the industry and work it from the inside.
What will be really impressive comes about when one of "these safe reactors" takes a really big shit on this planet. Then we will understand just how difficult it is to put the genie back in the bottle.

Why not drop a whole bunch of bombs and scare them rightly so?
Another thing...
More entertainers run for office than politicians get into entertainment, Tommy Thompson excluded.

Really? Then why don't you go swimming in an expended core holding tank and post it on youtube.
