Depending on the aircraft's speeds, there is a pretty noticable (30ish deg C on a 747 at cruise) temperature differential between the ambient air temp and the skin temp (due to air friction)
Actually, the hate crime law mentions nothing about being "a fucking annoying GUYS LISTEN TO MEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!! GUYS!? GUYS!!! hasbeen"
That said, if you were willing to think outside the box, this could be construed as a (mental) disability (which would be covered)
From the FBI website; Although the Hate Crimes Statistics Act of 1990 (amended in 1994 and 1996) defines a hate crime as a crime against a person or property motivated by bias toward race, religion, ethnicity/national origin, disability, or sexual orientation, the FBI does not have any federal jurisdiction to investigate hate crimes motivated by a sexual orientation bias. The FBI's authority to investigate hate crimes motivated by a disability bias is generally limited to incidents interfering with the victim's housing rights.
Man, I had the same problems with earbuds, _nothing_ fit me right and it was a real pain to wear them.
Someone told me to get a pair of Sony MDR-EX51LP Fontopias, sooo nice. $26 on Amazon. The only thing the "cord connecting left and right" is supposed to be worn in the back, and the main cable is a bit short. Whatever. I don't have to pack big ass headphones around anymore.
Or spend $289 for a device that you can also watch video on (and record, and play on a tv, etc etc). Archos AV120 w/ DVR Attachment http://www.thinkgeek.com/electronics/m p3/5fe2/
Sort of off topic, but a Archos jukebox recorder can be had for a bit over a hundred bucks, 20gb, has digital in / out, mounts like a hdd under any o/s, charges off a usb cable or wall-wart and uses a standard usb cable (the mini b "camera" one). Oh yeah, it can record via a built in mic or an external. It also has a open source firmware called rockbox. ( http://www.rockbox.org/ ) and you really can't find a battery powered portable 20 GB drive for the price.
My only bitch is that the randomize feature could use a little work. Kinda looks ugly, but to me (college student) spending $200 to get a nice white ipod is, well, better spent on food and liqour.
Can't play.ogg, but why would I want to re-encode all my music?
Try to act less like a troll when flaming people. He wasn't talking about "Nuclear winter", but "global cooling", Google is your friend if you want to educate yourself. The first result (newsweek '75) is a perfect example of sensationalist media bullshit. You'll find it on both sides of the this issue,
I might umm, sound insensitive, but are you missing legs or something? Libraries are one of the easiest places to get to in pretty much every community that I have been to. Public transport runs by most, or there are smaller libraries scattered around. BTW, check out half.com (shipping is a bit better, usually) or your local goodwill. I don't go there much, but I've found hardcovers that were out for less than a week on the shelves in mine for around $3. (not quite sure how this works, but whatever)
yeah, I second that. I've used a 486 with a wifi card and win95 (linux was a pita to set up on it) with the remote desktop client without any problems.
Most modern apps wouldn't run worth a damn on it (i.e. firefox, et al)
I've been tearing apart old laptops (a bunch of stylistic 486 tablets without anything) for their backlights. I left the backlights attached to the "plastic light diffusing thingys" that are behind the actual lcd.
I had a couple of (neon case lights) inverters (think it was for 6" tubes) that now power them pretty well. These things are bright, 1 is a bit overkill for a nightlight, you can read a book by the light of 2 panels from about 4'.
svc.com sells a bunch of case modding stuff, and their prices are good, although you will buy 10x more stuff than you intended.
Everything runs on 12V DC and is attached to a molex connector right now, but I'll be switching it to a wall wart eventually
Thinking of making a "backlight wall" or a "backlight lamp" once I have an enough (8?).
I'm sure there is some use for something like this in photography (i.e. even lighting), although the white is a bit harsh, though I could get some filters for that.
Sadly no pics, my dig cam is out of service for the next couple of weeks.
Anyone else doing something like this?
/I'm doped up on nyquil and sick as shit, so if something above doesn't make sense. . .
They rowed back this year. And hired people back for less money than they were paying a year ago.
The company eliminated x years of raises, x years of seniority, and if this was in the USA, probably saved a bunch by not spending anything on the employee's health insurance for the first 6 months.
It's simple; people get laid off, people are broke for a year, people are now willing to do the same job for less money. Company gets good PR for a) listening and responding to to customer events and b) "hiring people from the local economy".
Win-win for them. Granted if only one company does this, the average wage won't decrease by much, but if the majority of employers in a certain skill set do. . .
This is usually not done because 1) Locking the brakes in any aircraft causes the tires to develop a nice igloo shape, as the friction melts the bottom of the tire.

the mythbusters suggest using a bit of bleach in the gas tank. It is an oxidizer you know ;)
Yaz, meet tab; tab, yaz.
(I kid)
Umm, no and no. .
The paperbacks muse be really small where you live. .

yes, and windows has gotten faster over time. . .
Oh wait. . .
Quark /I'd like to but the goddamn lameness filter won't let me.

skype out sucks on the pocket pc btw.
suffice it to say, above is not a gmail invite
How come you Slashdot people see this for copy protection, but not for gun control?

Wow. I'm shocked, I feel sorry for you.
This would be funny if it wasn't so stupid.
There is a "banknote patch" for Photoshop CS, which makes the protection useless.
I'm not sure whether to laugh or to cry. Ignoring the fact that the whole premise is fucking mental . . . feh, details would be cool.
I'm not sure about that, have you seen his wife?
If your point is that you have no fucking clue as to what story you are replying to, yeah, you've made your point.
