I'm sorry, but that's a crap argument. In all of those cases, the licensing requirements are related to the actual job. In this case? Completely unrelated.

And Louisiana law is fairly different from Texas law. Louisiana is sort of the red haired bastard stepchild when it comes to the law because of the heavy French influence.

Virtually all of the "buy a lapsed domain" sites use a "give us a number, we won't tell you if you've beat the other bidder - or even if there is another bidder, but we will let you increase your bid if you want" bidding method. Oh... and you have to pay to for the privilege of bidding.
    Fucking scumbags, pure and simple.

BTW... If you're considering Godaddy's "expiring domain" service, don't - because you might as well just take a $20 bill and burn it in a sacrifice to the domain gods.

Godaddy tells you that if you don't get the domain you want, you can try another. Of course, they virtually never win anything (as the big domain auction houses get most domains, something that GoDaddy is well aware of) and when you try to register another domain, "it doesn't qualify" or you will be told you have to try and find another domain (which, of course, you also won't get) and so on and so on. I'd be surprised if godaddy has even caught a single expiring domain (from another registrar) in their entire history.

    Domain registrars are all scum.

The problem is that if the law can be abused, inevitably, it will be. Police and prosecutors cannot be trusted to use discretion or even common sense. The police are often ignorant of the law or incompetent, and too many prosecutors are sociopaths who want another notch on their belt in their pursuit of higher office.

It doesn't help that PC "salespeople" act like scumbags and push high margin items with high pressure tactics. As students graduate, supply goes up, wages go down - or at least stay fixed.
Foreign workers further destabilize wages - arguably more than any increase of native students - and you create a perfect situation for the employer.
