    PDF viewers on Linux suck, too. It amazes me, how evince starts redrawing the document for a few seconds when I zoom in / zoom out. C'mon, it's not 1982, how could this be so bad?

    Really, fucking read it already. And stop posting nonsense like "but javascript is already opensource" and "FSF are lunatics".

    Yes, your browser does download JS. And yes, you can view it. But you cannot legitimately re-use it. What FSF suggests is that some major web sites would release their JS code under free license, thus allowing code modifications and re-usage. What worries them is that a lot of Greasemonkey scripts for gmail are published under free licenses, but the original javascript remains copyrighted.

    Yeah, like standardization really gave C++ the portability. The standard has enough vague statements to make it a headache to port the code between compilers. Two words: template metaprogramming.

    A self-signed cert is fine for personal use, and I use it for my webmail portal, but it doesn't exactly look professional

    Seems like a contradiction to me. If you're not doing commerce, why bother about professionalism?

    Even with the mighty Google I can see the lag while using the secure version. And secure Wikipedia version stops working sometimes. Hell, I'm writing this on a website without HTTPS, maybe /. web masters could answer why is it like that, too.

    Please, try to explain this. What he is saying is "He did everything what we told him to do, so he's not the bad guy, even if he fucked up his own people. He served our country's interests, and as to the interests of Egypt people - we could not care less. "

    If you have the brains to market your idea (or negotiate with someone who can) then you deserve the profits you'll make.

    And guess who will be making a ton of money? The marketing managers, of course. Somehow, I don't like the idea, that only one group of people should benefit from the collaborative work.

    Following your logic, script-writers for movies should not get a penny for their work. I mean, anyone can imagine a movie plot in the shower, amirite?
