Unfortunately, I had to use.no prices, which are a bit steaper.
Here's an example from a price comparison engine in Norway. I've sorted by 2560x1440 and 2560x1600, and prices run from Low to High. Prices are in NOK: http://www.prisguide.no/katego...
A rule of thumb for costs in Norway compared to the US is to say 1USD = 10NOK, that way you'll have figured in taxes and charges. The currency itself is currently around 1USD = 5.92NOK.
But when that is said, I am very happy with my Dell U2711.
I hope not. There might not be TV formats at that pixel count in use, but a display with these pixel counts seem entirely feasible, as they are integers;-)
Allthough it does indeed seem feasable, and dare I even say probable, I must unfortunately disappoint you; there is no such thingamabob, dookickey or thingamajig.
Is this the point where I turn pedantic and remind you there is no such resolution as 1920*1024? =)
And I guess "cheap" is a relative term. I see the cheapest UHD (4K) monitors now costs less than what I payed for my 27"@2560*1440. The monitor(s) are such an important interface between you and the machine, this is where you should invest. I usually spend about 7000 NOK for a new monitor (atm. about US$1175. This being a high cost country, and with high taxes, this would be the equivalent of about US$850-900 in the US).
A new 28"@4K costs about US$600 and up here. A new 27"@2560*1440 costs about US$500 and up.
A few (6-7) years after I chose my nick, all of a sudden another guy started using it around the web. All of a sudden we ended up in a sort of Cold War rush to secure our (my!) nick on various sites and services. I'm thinking I've won, since his activity has dwindled.
That username gets about 14000 hits on Google, and the majority of them are related to me.
I've fought so hard for it, I get a bit annoyed when people abbreviate it =)
It's basically the difference of picking up the brick from the street or buying it from Wal-Mart before you throw it through the window. Some likes the convienience of Wal-Mart, others understand that any odd brick will do the trick.
Written from a not-yet-converted stock Galaxy S3. Was actually hoping to install CM this weekend through Play Store. Now I have to use the slightly less convenient option.
To me, "The Killer App" would be the Wireless Analyzer app. It's basically the one single tool that free me from running around with a laptop all day, everyday, across several locations using bus for transport.
In that regard, iOS not having anything similar is an absolute dealbreaker.
It seems to be the most natural position for it. I put it in vertically, and it ends up horisontally. And since my legs actually bend in that area, it makes it a lot easier to curl up into a fetal position every time Apple news is "leaked".
Here at home the police education is a three year education at bachelor level.
In the US it depends what kind of police it is, and if it's federal, state or municipal. Mostly it's just about jumping through some hoops. I wouldn't trust them to the degree I do here at home.
Mine sure does. Using two none-SLI GPUs, a GTX670 and an older GTS460. I use the 460 for physx and a couple of older 20" monitors, and a 27" WQHD as main monitor on the GTX670. I've also hooked the 670 up to the TV, running 1080p for when I'm in couch potato mode. I can see a dramatic difference in speed changing between TV and main monitor.
The difference between 1080p and WQHD is remarkable in certain games, like eg. Civilization 5. Most games with an isometric view benefit from it.
Nope, instead they'll be the ones who build a thick high wall around your new "space" to make sure you stay put and don't infect everything outside of it. Your space will become a prison like Waco, Texas, etc. Eventually they'll decide to reclaim the space you Occupy, and then it's game-over.
If your society doesn't manage to snuff itself out before that.
You'll need to certify for each product range, and recertify once a year. Easily done through an online course. But when that is done, you are the de facto service technician, and can order parts as you see fit. You, or at least the organization you work for, might even get reimbursed for time spent.
We are enrolled and using it at my place of work. It works well enough.
You can still order traditional support and technicians according to your support plan if you can't spare the time.
If I remember correctly, you can order 4 or 6 parts per unit at a time.

Actually, it is twofold, there's the "Practical meter", which shows how much power is drawn, and then there's the three tipped charging cable with built in circuits enabling a device to draw more power from sources that supports it.
Yes, you mean like how they've reduced pilots jobs to call-center working conditions because of the cockpit voice recorder?

No, I'm saying I've learned to be a pedantic, anal retentive querulant.

Typical Slashdot, spend 17 seconds on an article and be convinced that you understand more than those who spent hours, days or years on a subject!
Subjetively, I've spent hours, days and years on Slashdot.
That's got to count for something, right?
Could the Dear leader be wrong?
After all, haircut #7 looks better. But objectively speaking, my subjective meaning might not matter.
PS: I guess all responses should hence forth be sent me C/O camp #14.

Mod, mark this "insightful", or "flamebait".

Somehow I do feel safer with police in countries with an emphasis on long term training and education to become a police officer..

An entire country locked in a mexican standoff, that sounds nice.
Or could this actually be a new type of standoff entirely? The American standoff?
Most sane people do not feel safe with roaming machine-gun-toting civilians in any venue neither.
Mine sure does.

Sorry for repasting an earlier post in this thread, but I figure this might help you out a bit.

Eva Braun might disagree.
That's why you didn't get invited to the party.
"What party?"
Exactly..
What a beautiful yarn that is.
And it illustrates very well how the needs of one is more important than the needs of the many.
Republican'ts, fuck yeah!
By "specific and immediate threats", I suppose he means the NSA itself?
From the "Same same, but (very) different" Dept. there is this little Kickstarter project:
