    There can be a monopoly even in the black market, if cost of entry is high. Of course it's harder to remain hidden, where cost of entry is high. So the black market mostly focuses on the sectors where cost of entry is low.

    Have you found documents on wikileaks, that gives away informants? I don't expect links, just you to answer with good faith.
    (I have searched it for 2.5 hours and haven't found anything.)

    And now I looked up Hungarian minimal wage and I found that it was recently increased from $340 to $350 monthly ($15.45 to $15.9 a day).

    You're correct, Eastern-Europe is 2nd world, however if you did the calculation the daily minimal wage is $22-$25 (depending on currency price fluctuation), which is pretty close to the price quoted by OP. And that's the main reason of the rampant piracy around here.

    Where I live* minimal wage is $400 (per month), and you can get a 30Mb internet connection for $25 (per month, but as a student I have 3 other flatmates, so divide it by 4). My last machine was 5 years old when I upgraded.

    Sumner researched mostly tribal people. But similar practices also existed in Europe during the 19.th century as well.

    And you know what was before the 20th century? Those who weren't productive anymore, and needed extensive care committed suicide/were killed. If you want to know more about it look for William Graham Sumner's books.
    (But it's well documented by Hungarian sociologists as well, but I don't think you can read that.)
