There is no 3G GSM. 3G is actually CDMA. Technologically there is nothing from classic GSM in there.
You are confusing CDMA as signal encoding and the CDMA data specification' (aka Qualcomm CDMA). GSM always been an umbrella standard covering what features are needed for communication. Originally GSM went with TDMA as the encoding, but in recent years have switched to CDMA. 3G GSM refers to the third generation of the GSM standard, which also includes the CDMA signal encoding. It does not use the Qualcomm CDMA data specification.
GSM was as a standard was formed by multiple entities to avoid the incompatiblities encountered during the analogue days. The GSM standard includes many technologies and evolves over time. As long as the licensees follow the standard, then everyone communicates.
Even at $100 it may still be cheaper than digging up the ground and laying fibre optics in certain cases. I think what would really change things is if these were easily installable by someone who isn't a specialist.
While the technology is old, the implementation seems to be new. Also, the form it has taken means that we are likely to see cheaper commercial solutions coming out or a whole bunch of hobbyists implementing this themselves - or both. $100 vs $4000+. I can just imagine mesh networks based on this.
If these can be coupled with solar power and are of low energy use, then I can imagine these being alternative solutions to laying cables in remote areas.
'the purchaser of a license for a program is entitled, as a rule, to observe, study or test its functioning so as to determine the ideas and principles which underlie that program.'"
Google is not a purchaser of a license for JME, so this ruling is irrelevant to the jury for that case, sorry.
Sure, but I suppose the definition of 'purchaser' in this context needs to be clarified. After all if you download a 'free' piece of software, then are you 'buying' a piece of software for 0€? This is important, since Java can freely be downloaded in compiled or source form, with the latter under GPL.
For the most part quicktime movies are being replaced by MPEG4. This makes sense, since the MPEG4 container is heavily based on the Quicktime movie container. As for the CODECs, well if you use popular MPEG4 codec then you should be fine.
Maybe the solution is to include a web browser in the TV? Many TVs are Linux based and require an Internet connection for updates, so why not go a step further? Sure it would probably mean needing to provide a keyboard with the TV or pages customised for navigation on a TV.
BTW does anyone know whether there is any method of providing the URL of the TV channel in the broadcast stream?
In Montreal we have six OTA digital channels (Radio Canada, CBC, CTV, Global, Télé Quebec, V).
I opted to not go with cable, IPTV or satellite because of the quantity of commercials on top of the fee I have to pay for these packages. I hate most are shows that spend more time announcing what is going to come on next and what they just showed, amounting to five minutes of real content in 20 minutes. I have Netflix and I am very happy. All I would like now is to be able to watch Crunchyroll via Plex.
Some of the Perl libraries haven't been updated to support IPv6 yet. This is a major problem and just one of the issues why I don't have much faith in Perl or CPAN.
Maybe time to rewrite in PHP or something that is progressing with the times?
The only way to get IPv6 and IPv4 speaking together would be via a proxy and that would only work for certain protocols.
Many companies will probably find themselves having to do just that, because they have wanted to deny the reality of IPv6 and therefore have not developped a migration strategy.
Ah, but it works the other way too. See all those people doing business on the new IPv6 Internet? Shame you can't join them because 'too bad' they don't have IPv4 and you don't want to move to IPv6, because it is just hype.
At a certain point that snow ball will take on speed. You can deny it is coming, but will hit you sooner or later. Better off if you are prepared for it.
At the company I work for (large international corp) we have a logical name and a friendly name. The logical name helps identify where the machine is geographically (country, data center, unit) and the friendly name which is given out to everyone, which can be whatever name was requested, as long as it is suitable. This way you keep both the network team happy (you can tell from the name where to find it) and everyone else too (they have a name that is easy to remember).
In the case of virtual machines and blades there is another logical naming scheme, adapted to the context.
You assume the person is living in the USA or a country where $300 is 'cheap'. In some places this is equivalent to a a couple of months income.
Although I myself run the latest and greatest, traveling around shows me that people can't always afford better hardware or what they have is good enough for their needs. If a decent browser can be made to run on a smartphone, then 512MB should be fine for a basic desktop. Sure you are going to have to compromise on the software, but it will do the job.
You are right, you are over reacting. Killing 6 million jews is a lot worse.
I probably am, but it doesn't make Harper right either.
He didn't do this until he was in power. I was referring to what he did prior to getting into that position. BTW Lets not forget about the all the other people he disliked, that were sent to the camps, when quoting that number.
I could have probably used someone else as a reference, such as GW Bush/D Chainey or Putin, but I had just been watching a program on Hitler's rise to power and he ended up being my first pick as a reference.
It's better to use some other leader that rose to power as a result of massive fraud which can be used as a comparison rather than Hitler. Using Hitler invariably invites people to spout off about Godwin even if the comparison is perfectly apt with regard to the illegal electioneering.
There are plenty: Putin, Bush Jr 2000, many middle east leaders, Kim Jung Il, etc.
You are right. I suppose having just watched a documentary on Hitler's rise to power made him my immediate reference point, and I didn't consider how it would have been interpreted. When I was using him as a reference point I wasn't pertaining to what he did once he did have his absolute power, rather all the political meddling he did to allow himself to stay get there and stay there.
Using more recent people like GW Bush/D Cheney might have been better, especially since the recent conservative "You are with us or with the child pornographers" (for Bill C-30) sounds very similar to Bush's "You are with us or against us" spiel.
I suppose the only chance we have in Canada is to have some sort of positive influence of people in conservative ridings, to undo some of the damage they have enabled.

My current ones are menagea3.net and megatokyo.com
Indeed. If your boss won't listen escalate until someone will. Also try to explain things in terms they will understand, like case history.
Yeah, he's going to be made out to be the villain in this case. And that same thing would happen in most countries.
The way he went about making his point was wrong. There were probably other ways that wouldn't have caused him so much trouble.
Flash crowd photo taking. Make enough noise to make people talk about the issue?
Remember this is the same country that wants to apply censorship to the internet by default.
Maybe you should write to your MP and even see if the European parliament considers this legal.

Maybe we have underestimated the Canadians and they are already doing interplanetary flights?

BTW IPv6 world day is not just an experiment this time: http://www.worldipv6launch.org/
One small factor: having a username, rather than a user number.

Or was that 9 hours a day, for 5 days of the week?

As long as it doesn't make your sing, you should be fine either way.
Just limit this to contacting the EFF. See whether they can provide you any guidance.
They are probably partially turned off, as in not returning location. They can probably still receive a cellular signal.
