It's funny that unpaid is supposed to add a nutral bias. The idea of paying elected oficials wa originally to make it for open and lessen the bias.
I'm not saying your right or wrong, just that it is interesting how things have changed.
Also for all intents and purposes our (US) representitives and senators are unpaid (compare what John Edwards made as a lawyer to as a Sentator). How do you prevent this group from being currupted by lobbyists? not paying them certainly won't help.
Silent storm is very similar and fun, FWIW (well the fight parts anyway).
Also, UFO:AI http://ufo.myexp.de/?id=news is an example of the game with better graphics (though lacking a large part of the game (like randomness and base).
I know some really liberal dems that hate her for no reason and would likly vote republican or not vote if she ran. And anyone I know moderate hates her bitterly.
The hatred is so bad and prevelent that I dislike her and don't even know why. I think she would be a terrible canidate to field from a strategic point of view even if she is great overall.
I don't really think she even has the nomination locked down. I don't know who is planning on running but Edwards has a shot if he so choses, and a more refined Dean does too.
Your point about patches is fairly valid - but it's still not inconceivable that someone who always uses their machine from behind a firewall could go a year without patching.
I imagine the 3GHz Itanium does a great job power Santa's Desktop.
It makes as much sense as imagine what a 6GHz G5 would do or an 8GHz Pentium IV.
They all do nothing because they don't exist. I don't really know much on the subject, but my understanding is designs can be made to clock real high but do less per a clock (P4) or clock real low and do more (Itanium) or somewhere inbetween (G5 Athlon).
I know there is more to it then that, but part of the reason the P4 is so inneficient is it was designed that way. The reason the P4 clocks so high is that it needs too, the reason it needs to is it was designed that way, and the reason it was designed that way was so it could clock high.
Last time I tried to price systems it was closer then your would think.
Cheapest MAC mini:$499 I would say it was comparable to a $299 PC.
Cheapest iMAC: $1299 a huge premium over the cheapest Dell with matching specs (DVD etc.), but the iMac has the most to offer over a traditional case + Monitor setup.
Cheapest Power Mac: $1999 Trying to amke an equivelent Dell (dual 3.0 GHz vs dual 2GHz, but probably pretty close if my AMD experiance is worth anything) I ger over $2200.
Apples are a fair deal. The apple Case in the G% is probably wrth a couple hundred over the average PC case (600W power supply and good noise management) The Mini case is probably worth between $50-$100 to most peopl (silent small convienient) and the iMac again probably has some added value with easy access to all ports and nothing under the table.
these comparisons assume that the G5's are about comperable to the Athlon 64s in performance for a given clock rate. It is also worth noting that the G5s will actually be using the 64bit part which will help them too.
Apple laptops are similarly a fairly good deal but I am out of time now.
"When an artist sells a song, they get 40% of the net sale (less paypal fee), and as they sell more downloads, their % increases to an eventual 50/50 split."
sounds to me like you don't actually have everything equal no matter what the sales figures, but I could have mis-read what you wrote.
1) run spybot. 2) make note of what it can't remove. 3) find those files. 4) reboot repetedly hitting F8 5) pick safe mode with command prompt 6) when at command prompt hit WIN+E 7) browse to files and delete them. 8) reboot 9) run msconfig and delete mention of said files.
not too hard, and not too long, much easier then SoftIce.
A good Intel lawyer will make sure that it can't happen like that though.
They will say everythign has to be within the time frame of the fileing date backwards by the statatory limitation on whatever they are suing for (allowing for a little more time soley to establish background).
Of course AMDs lawyers will ask open ended questions to the defense hoping that someone slips up and opens the window for a line of questions about the continuing practice.
As to the Grandparents subject, I don't know for sure how much specific lawyers do, but a case I worked where about 13,000 pages were admitted into evidence the lawyers could see something (or hear it in court) and pretty much name a document number that was relevent (there were 1,300+ documents each 10 or so pages).
In another case with far less admitted into evidence, but with 40 cases of documents produced the expert witness I met had read all 40 cases himself and then re-read about half of it that he deamed sort of relavent and then focused on more.
The first case was quite large (one of the richest 20 people on the planet was there)
The other was a realitivly small case that had a large vengance factor (less then $5,000,000).
Mars Matrix is still the best shmup ever, Ikaruga doesn't compare. There were other great games for that system that I got for $5-$15, some never released for anything else.
I use an old version of bitconjurer (I think, I am not at home).
I then through the magic of the GUI created a shortcut to the file that ran it with --max-upload-rate=12
low and behold I have no problem, it takes me 18 hours for a large download and it takes me as long as 3 days to be at 1:1 but the whole time I am unbothered by it.
I have to do this because if I leave it unchecked my router crashes while I am at work (cheap D-link). I also like the protection from unexpectadly coming home to find I uploaded a few GB's of data to get a copy of Wolfenstein:ET or a copy of knoppix.
It's more like getting mad when people use your CB radio by sending voice to it.
I mean geez, you purchased a 2-way radio that uses public frequencies, the least people could do is not a single person ever use the same channel as you with in range.
You leave out that the LIRR has hot dog stands of booze in the waiting area. Also my usage of it has been much more pleasant (but not great) than yours.
I thought the point of CIV3 was it was harder and bigger maps.
CIV2 was just too easy and CIV1 was especially so (as was Alpha Centuri). I like to play on big maps and the AI just couldn't figure it out in the earlier games.
Also Alpha Centuri was completly unbalanced on large maps with the greenies and the capitalists having massive advantage.
CIV2 still gets a lot of play though because the scenarios were better.
I always thought it had to do with the Sweedish Chef.
"borked" that is. Anyway, I imagine that the association can go away for someone like that fairly quick. I am in my 20's and have fairly good (better then average anyway) grasp on American history and had no idea about Bork.
NVIDIA drivers are real easy on Linux and on any platform I have tried.
Having a download that runs a script that unzips and configures makes etc should be easy.
For programs I have downloaded it is very rare to need a dependancy that is not in the system already. What distros need to do is install the developer libraries by default and then installing from source can be made as easy as a wizard in Windows, or copying a.dmg
Also from what I am hearing there will be problems with compatablility between OSX.3 and OSX.4+ so similar problems to fragmented distros will arise.
My point is that the skin color shouldn't matter, jobs are jobs and 1000 of them were created and the people getting them will be very well off, even if they arn't WASPs.

Well, I don't know how you think darwin works, but accidental pregnancies would probably darwinize the others I would think.
In an accurate portrayal wouldn't it be evil? or at least negative?
It's not like the holodeck wipes the mind of those who enter.

They don't let me do it at the counter, but I have never had a problem doingit as an ATM deposit.
I disagree.
More often then no employers force a 30-60 minute lunch that needs to be made up in the morning or the afternoon.

I say kudos to IBM.
How is adding 1,000 jobs cutting jobs?
Do the Indians not count because they are brown?
IBM is adding to its workforce and yet is still critisized.
I'm courious how that worked without the internet, was it by phone or post? Because that would be a pain in the neck to activate by phone etc.
