The EyeTV 500 is a nice little HD tuner that lets the mini do the work of a PVR

Yeah, except it works for shit on a Mac Mini. It needs a lot more firepower because it tries to record huge hdtv streams. I wound up trading down for EyeTV 300.

it can at least watch videos. So it will remain a PV. What it can't do is record video. So I suggest calling it a PVW(atcher), PVV(iewer), PVD(isplay).

I have something like this too. I just call it a TV.

Yes in this case the asymmetry itself has aesthetic qualities you guys are missing -- I feel this case is much more compelling than, say, this symmetrical design. The tail of the tarsier embraces the apple nicely, IMHO. I would have preferred a thinner image, it takes too much space up on the right, and I agree with the GP about the animal not really complementing the apple thematically, but I am not sure that the asymmetry itself is a problem here. But, of course, matters of aesthetic taste are simply not objective, so YMMV....

how does RIAA "control" those channels? They have sweet deals with them, sure, so perhaps an indie label is screwed, but if a major player like Apple pushed bands through those channels (where they're already selling ipods in many cases), I'd expect to see them make room.
