While sitting, draw clockwise circles on the ground with your right foot. While doing that, try drawing the number "6" in air with your right hand.
I always draw "6" from the inside of the circle out rather than from the top down as most other people draw it. Thus there is no change in the way my foot draws circles when I draw my 6 in the air....
First off, it's about time for them to look at this focus rather than, as the report states, solutions that will hamstring consumers (i.e. attacks on p2p and other emerging technologies). Had Metallica figured this out in the Napster days, they would have realized their problem was in house rather than with their fans. Remember, what pissed Metallica off the most was hearing an unreleased song of theirs on the radio because a radio DJ had downloaded it via Napster. I don't think it's conspiracy theory to notice that the RIAA lawyers cynically manipulated artists who were upset about this by focusing their attention on p2p rather than on the problems that were in their own studios.
Ever see Ashcroft singing? This is not for the feint of heart.... please do not click the link unless you are sitting comfortably, preferably with a bottle of Jack Daniel's nearby.... The Link
About 5 times a week I get calls like this when I pick up the phone there is a series of beeps, one every few seconds, and of course no human on the other end. Is this just a war dialer? It doesn't make modem noises; just beeps....
If a computer does not belong to you, you are not supposed to access it without explicit or implied permission.
Arguably, leaving port 80 open constitutes implied permission. Nobody expects me to get a signed note from CmdrTaco every time I visit slashdot.org. On what basis can a prosecutor make the claim that leaving port 23 open does not constitute the same kind of implicit permission?
For example, in the Serbian military conflict (in which the Chinese supported the Serbians committing gross human-rights atrocities against the Kosovars in Kosovo), the Americans went out of their way to use precision military technology to destroy only military targets and to avoid hitting civilian targets like hospitals and schools.
Yep... better to save those precision weapons for more lucrative civilian targets, like the Chinese embassy.
This is the same administration that has been attacking health care and family planning for women both in the US and abroad. If liberation of Arab women is so important to them, what about basic needs and services for women at home?
First off, there is no US law or ordinance that I am aware of that guarantees your right to "pursue happiness." The quote from the Declaration of Independence is in no way legally binding; the Constitution is much more precise about what is considered a right, and privacy is not in there (though it is clearly implied). But the original poster's point is difficult to refute -- having your email snooped pales in comparison to the kinds of human rights abuses that take place in many countries in the world (including the US). It's a little disingenuous to compare them as if they were equivalent.
Bullshit. He refused to even name a single SC decision in the past 50 years that he disagreed with. That is a simple question about his views about past decisions. Not a "litmus test" about abortion, and he wasn't being "asked to rule on future cases." What crap. If he can't even tell the Senate what he thinks of SC precedents, he doesn't belong in the judiciary. Period.
Who the hell can you name that a Democrat appointed who qualifies as a "left wing ideologue"? I don't equate that with "liberal," as you seem to -- by definition an ideologue uses ideology rather than reason to guide decision making. And yes I think GWBush more than any president in my lifetime has tried to pack the judiciary with individuals who are guided not by reasoning about interpretation of the law but rather by their ideology. The same can't be said of most of the liberals appointed by Clinton.

and I, for one, wlcemoe our new dslyxeic ovlrerdos!
and I, for one, welcome our new p2p...
ahhh, forget it.
Isn't the web p2p by definition? If I run httpd on my computer it certainly is, no?
He meant to say "built Fnord tough."
The GPS issue is fixed now as well, IIRC.

Don't insult arms dealers like that.
Only slightly harder than it will be for telemarketers to ignore the do not call list.

Too many damn buttons!!
How the hell is trade "free" under such conditions?
As soon as they pay their linux license fees to SCO.
yeah -- they didn't find aliens either.
I wrote an email to my local news stations too. Something about a Wicked screensaver....
Actually, the real test will come when somebody measures how fast this thing can copy a 17 megabyte file from one folder to another.

Nope, it's true. SCO built a time machine. You can build one too; they'll sell you the instructions for only $699.
