My vote for truly the best web software ever was the Zippy Filter. It's the only thing that made most of the web bearable and it is sorely missed. As one of the comments suggested, "This is almost certainly the finest thing I have seen on the Web. When you figure out how to apply this filter to the rest of the universe, don't tell me about it. Just do it."

Yeah, we see the FSF lobbying for copyright extension all the time. Face it, in the eyes of the FSF, copyright is an evil which they have decided to pervert for good.
Copyright extension is not copyright law. They are not perverting copyright law; they are restoring the actual purpose of copyright law in the US -- to promote the progress of science and the useful arts. They do not, to my knowledge, claim that copyright is evil or even that they oppose copyright law itself.

I have mod points right now and I almost modded you down but then nobody would have known why. So, attention all slashdotters! "SPEECH" is spelled "S-P-E-E-C-H," not SPEACH. If English is not your first language, I suppose you find this strange because the verb to speak has an "a" in it. Well, ok, it's weird, but deal with it -- the word "speach" has no meaning whatsoever in the English language. In the US we have freedom of speech and we have the freedom to speak, but we do not have freedom of speach because there is no such thing!

This has been a public service announcement from your local spelling nazi. Have a day!
