    You said you were using digital cameras and mp3 players without using the FAT filesystem.

    Please state brand and model of the digital camera you are using to achieve this.

    I think what really happens is that now ugly people are not allowed to pass in front of a camera.

    For that reason, we have a lot of pretty people in TV who are nonetheless called "ugly"

    I haven't bought a Microsoft product in at least 3 years, possibly a little longer, and am quite contentedly using all of the types of devices you named.

    Please enlighten me and tell me which digital camera brand does not use the FAT filesystem in its memory cards.

    The whole point is that if MS started suing people over the VFAT filesystem you would not be able to use a digital camera, MP3 player, etc. in Linux

    I mean, I got Lasik surgery done like 6 years ago (and I'm still wearing glasses, thanks for asking) and I was freaked out of my mind the whole time...

    I concur. Chances are that this new kind of acoustic brain surgery will sooner be cheaper than a ticket to a Metallica concert.

    I know several people that fully (and vocally) agree with the "why the heck should I saddle myself with an infant" attitude you describe.

    Even more sadly, some of them are my friends.

    Too band I am not elocuent enough to describe the joy that being a father of two can bring.

    Yes, I know that my kids eat up half my income (and probably will continue to do so for the next 20 years)

    Yes, I know that my kids are the reason why I have less free time than most of my colleages

    Yes, I have to get up at 4am to whack night terrors in the head with a bat, or to get a glass of water

    Yes, it is all worth it

    The sad truth of the matter is that people are idiots and software package names does make an influence.

    Interesting.

    When you print a Wikipedia article, you get a different layout and you get a caption under the title reading "From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia"

    Maybe someone could add an attribution caption to all images that are printed, but not to the browser (because you can click on the image and see the credits if you are watching the article online)

    It's been a loophole in the past for shipping weapons around - ship the parts (which is legal) and the recipient assembles them. And since a part of an MP3 file is unusable without the rest, I'd think a similar defense might work here.

    Wasn't there a "sampling" case where it was ruled that using a certain percentage of a song (a few seconds IIRC) were not considered to be copyright infringement?
