I would guess it would be somebody like Commander Taco or Cowboy Neal saying like "I hope this works" as a test of the slashdot code..
The Wayback machine doesn't seem to bring up a "good copy" of it... did anybody have more luck with this?

Have you tried holding down the SHIFT key at the same time you press Delete when you delete files in file explorier? I think it does what you're talking about... and you don't have to mess with the percentage settings in the trash bin.
I predict 20 posts joking about how this memory will improve the performance of the next version of Windows, or being just barely enough for the next version of Windows.
Yeah, apparently he forgot a step... is there a button called "Advanced" on the settings tab. If so, click on it.
Now, is there a bunch of tabs, with one called "Monitor".. click on the monitor tab if there is one. Now you should see a drop box called "Refresh Frequency".
Yeah, my mistake.. I remember Punter mostly because I was a C-64 BBSing freak in 1986-1990 (I think I called just about every C-64 BBS in 1987 in Oklahoma City)
BTW, I was known as the Wizard Watson back then..
I FOUND IT!!! THE VERY FIRST BBS CREATED!!!

It seems that since Best Buy is essentially a racist corporation bent on squeezing profits using unethical bait-and-switch tactics, we must respond by boycotting Best Buy.
I also remember somewhere Microsoft owns about ten percent of Best Buy... can anyone confirm or deny this?
OOooh, I see... so just because I use a BORLAND programming language, I'm sticking my head up Microsoft's ass.. how mature, that really makes want to Java a chance....
Tell you what, I've got better things to do.. YOU try out Java and keep the results to yourself..
Seriously, you smug little Spac-loving little bastards probably have never really used an intel system, and don't intend to use an intel system..

I can honestly say that this is one of the most insightful comments made by an anonymous coward.. at least you've restored my faith in the slashdot community...
Well, the programming language I'm using is Delphi 5.0.. I think I'll stick with that since that's what I know best.
Besides, I've heard that Java performance is not all that great, especially if you use a virtual machine developed by Sun Microsystems... could be because most of the best Java engineers quit working there when Java was brand new..
And you must be the typical slashdot reader. Seriously, I'm starting to think you people have absolutely nothing to contribute to the discussion.

Seriously, I don't even know why I even bother to ask even the least technical questions... is there some urge in all Linux users to tell people to RTFM?? Are you really feeling so smug and so suprior about your precious open-source operating system that you can't resist to urge to jump down the thoat of anybody who have questions or criticisms???
The news blurb doesn't go into any detail as to HOW they benchmarked it (for all I know, they might've tested only static web pages and CGI applications)... does anyone know how well it runs ISAPI applications? And is it easy to set up to be able to run ISAPI applications?
(An ISAPI application is basically a DLL files that is loaded into memory and it stays in memory until it was 'halted' by an administrator, thus giving it a protential performance boost over CGI applications. That's the theory, anyway..)
If I'm not mistaken, Apache can serve ISAPI applications (which is basically a DLL that can dynamically create web pages based on what the user submits).. has anyone benchmarked ISAPI application under the old version of Apache and the new version of Apache?
"A short and semi-interesting read."
That's good, because most of us gamers are also short and semi-interesting as well...
Whoops, I meant to say that I'm curious about this, myself..

So use a different site to download files, like www.fileshack.com.

Whoops, my bad.. I meant 17 and 19 inches DIAGONALLY (sp?) across the screen..
No, it means 17 inches and 19 inches, vertically across the screen.
Why is this? I haven't figured it out, but my guess is that monitor companies what you to think their monitor is bigger than it actually is.

I remember reading about the first bbs created.
I think it was in Chicago, and was started in 1978, on an 8-bit computer..
Can anyone tell me what the name of this board is? I wish I remember what it was called..
And for downloading files, it used a protocol called Punter... ah, those WERE the days..
Great! Can it be used to host the Doom 3 videos?

I guess my question is, will enough people know enough about this to decide if this is a good or bad thing..
What if the source for Windows was released under this license...? Would you bother with it?
