Looks like the moderators have their work cut out for them...
And, in an attempt to stay on-topic... is there going any attempt to benchmark the different kinds of peer-to-peer networks (Gnutella, Freenet, etc..) to see which one is "best" as far as how bandwidth it uses (for a particular sub-network), how long it takes to search and retrieve a file, etc... as time goes by, it might interesting to rebenchmark the services again, to see if there's any change in the way it uses bandwidth.
One good reason for this is that there's been a lot of complaints about how these "decentralized" networks sucks up a lot of bandwidth.
But Metallica's just basically alienating themselves from the computer-savy generation. However, I'm not sure how Metallica could make money without pissing off their own fan base.
The one thing that Linux needs is better support for sound cards... I installed Red Hat Linux 6.0 on a Dell system that had a Turtle Beach Montego sound card... no matter what I did, I couldn't get it to work.
The biggest problem Is that the internet is already too much of a standard.. it's easy to change standands if they're not too popular or used that much...
Want proof of this? In some cases, we're still using the kermit protocol to download.. if anyone doesn't know, this is one of the first protocols written for the internet.
So that leaves Internet2 to the scientific/idle rich category.
By the way, has anyone done any real world benchmarking? As in, take a copy of the slashdot code, and see how it runs on internet2?
The game Blood was written using Watcom C.
I'm pretty sure that's not the only DOS-based game written using this compiler. It seriously kicks butt in compiler optimizations.
Now, if could get Borland to open-source the editor environment, we'd have the perfect C development environment...
What's the distinction between the different "hats"... I've heard of "White Hat Hackers", which I assume is a consultant hired to find and plug up security holes... and then there's "Grey Hat Hackers", which I guess is a script kiddie... what are the others? By the way, first post?
That's all I can say right now... One question I have though: How much does it cost? I'm assuming the pricing is the same as previous versions of Delphi.

I may have missed it, but what was the market share of slackware?

Nature hates a vacuum.

wow, what's that thing run on, floppies?
Although I thought Debian had "non-free" disclaimer somewhere on their package... or has a recent version gone completely "free" (as in speech)?
Well, I figure with glue and duct-tape, you can merge anything with anything... :)
What are you going to do if the non-RIAA companies also decides to sue Napster? Hmm? Ban music all together?

Does that mean we can get rid of the "first post" gene?
In case you don't know it already, it's http://www.woz.org/
Thanks! If I'm traveling down that way, I'll be sure to visit the place!
Kind of wished that the yahoo link would tell the inventor's hall of fame is located.
