    The point is that you disclaimers are not always legally binding. The vehicular examples are just examples that many people may find familiar. You're reading too much into them.

    Regardless, I agree that he is safe legally. It's not the disclaimer that protecting him though.

    He called me a couple of times to ask a question how to do something but for over two years now I have not received one call for support.

    That may be a bad example as he may have just abandoned the pc or installed something else.

    Friends are unlikely to tell someone that they didn't like something they were given. They tend to just stop talking about it.

    My point is that it's very hard for those homes to retain their $5M value when surrounded by such drastically lower housing. The prices of the neighboring developments affect each other.

    I'm in Atlanta and I don't know of any million dollar housing developments that are situated next to $90k housing developments. For $90k in Atlanta, you're either in the hood way out in the sticks.

    The author mentioned cross-referencing the time/location data points with social media posts.

    If person already knew a particular time/location for the biker, that could be used to figure out the customer id.

    Probably not that much. Spilled gasoline is a lot harder to ignite than the movies portray it.

    To be clear, I consider both parties to be clowns. They are mostly all friends and laugh at all the hardcore party partisans that get all worked up and think it's real. It's just like pro wrestling. You're just a mark.

    I'd give it a lot of thought before you spearheaded this initiative as it comes with a lot of personal risk. "This linux crap that Bob had us switch over to" will get the blame by the employees for any and all application or IT related issues.

    To be clear, I'm not saying that Linux will be the cause, just that it will always be the presumed culprit.

    You might not, but humans as a whole do consider social status as the ultimate standard of success - even more than wealth. In most cases, fame is used as a proxy for social status.
