    The truth is, terrorists can always damage infrastructure and they don't have to completely destroy anything to be crippling. Imagine what would happen if they did something to force the closure or slowdown of the subway system in every every big city that had 1 or twice a week. With the current economic woes they could find relatively cheap and easy ways to bankrupt America faster than all the administrations since Nixon.

    The video of the helicopter shooting in Iraq that included a journalist being killed showed the unarmed civilians who tried to move him into their van being cut to bits. There was absolutely no threatening action and these people were clearly civilians - I cannot find any reports of the soldiers being charged for a clearly murderous action.

    His point about the Chinese political system is accurate, and was probably made out of frustration. When you have a polarized political system, you can be hamstrung for a long time. But a system that can govern by edict can be significantly faster at making change - that doesn't mean it's positive, just more effective at reaching a goal.

    Both systems have their merits and flaws and sometimes you have to do things one way; sometimes the other. I don't know too many who run their families like a democracy, but more like a benevolent dictatorship

    Unless they're really, really stupid, they'll see this coming and will still have a lot of the oil money that the world have gifted them with for decades. Since they'll still have plenty of oil, they can use it themselves - petroleum is good for lots of things other than burning. Also, they can find other things to do - they weren't always oil sheiks; maybe sell some of those gold-plated urinals and limos made from sterling silver, if things get tight.     The only good part of the show is the John Noble. Everyone else could be replaced by a featureless robot and I probably wouldn't notice. Anna Torv seems to think that emotion is confined to imagining a bad smell directly under one's nose. Joshua Jackson is a complete waste as the tough-guy genius who only purpose seems to be acting as a translator from crazy scientist English to, well, English.

    It would have made a half-decent mini-series but it's been going on too damn long. Let it die or kill it quick.
