"If it's ok when your team does it - if you're only sorry that they got caught"
Holy crap, you've lost your fucking mind! I'd quote your entire post but your lunacy may be infectious. I stated that Obama is not & has never been a liberal. That's all. Period. And he's never considered himself one either. If you look, you'll find him speaking with Elizabeth Warren (2010, 2011?) about consumer protection and pursuing the Wall St fraudsters where he gets exasperated with her and starts a sentence with "you liberals"
how about acknowledging that China is already ahead of the USA in investment in renewable energy sources?
how about not forgetting how far behind china is compared to the much of the world in so many other aspects of environmental protection, human rights, and everything else?
Things in North Am weren't much better in the 70s so China & India are less than 40 yrs behind; the unknown is how long it'll take them to catch up. But President Trump will make it easier for them - by making sure we get back to when we were (the) great(est polluters)
"The typical liberal is perfectly happy with concentrating power in the state - as long as they are running the state" Liberals have never been in control of the US Gov
>>...suggest President Obama begin "declassifying and dismantling as much of the federal government's unaccountable, secretive, mass surveillance state as he can -- before Trump is the one running it..
When Obama got into power, I assumed he'd be the typical liberal. Little did I know he'd get very friendly with the expansion of the police state. He's enjoyed using the presidential powers at whim. Now that he's leaving, someone else gets to pick up the parts he so willingly put into place and use them.
Should have thought of that before you put it into law eh there mr. president?
The only way Obama could have been considered a liberal is if he was being compared to hardline conservative. Just because the GOP loudmouths were labeling him a socialist for months before he was elected didn't make it true.
"and consider the possibility it was only 1.83 million" what's matter is where those votes changed hands; most American elections are decided in a just a few states.
He's only "apparently not good at business" to people who don't know jack shit about business.
I tried to book a flight on Trump Air, hoping to have a delicious Trump Steak, wash it down with a clear shot or two of Trump Vodka, maybe get a bottle of Trump Water as a souvenir, on my way to enrolling at Trump University.
I never counted Paul Newman as someone who knew jack shit about business but his Newman's Own brand has generated more money in charitable donations than Trump has accumulated - yes, I'm implying he's not a billionaire - while Trump donations are as underwhelming as he is overbearing
"He has been audited every year" - I don't believe that but he says it because it fits his narrative of a rigged system & makes him look like a victim of the corrupt government, which plays well since the IRS doesn't get much love from anyone. And he can get away with lying about yearly audits since the IRS is not allowed to comment specifically on his tax situation - but there was a very strong implication that he's lying when they did say that "it would be most unusual for someone to be audited every year"
"Hilary became a senator by virtue of her name recognition as First Lady: it's not that she did something tangible for NY that got voters to elect her over Rich Lazio"
I've seen Lazio in interviews. Trust me, Clinton is a better choice. What most people have forgotten or don't know about Hillary becoming a Senator in New York is that she got out there and met the little people, went to a fuckton of small towns and introduced herself at malls, fairs, corn roasts, town halls. Did her status as former 1st lady help? Sure did. But y'know what helped more? The former 1st lady walking up to middle-class and rural voters in NY towns, shaking their hands, talking to them & asking personally for their vote.
"About the Trump organization, blind-trusting its assets is something that's next to impossible, given the high visibility of all of them. What would work better is one of Don/Ivanka/Eric taking over from him and running it, and there being an agreement w/ Trump on not discussing anything about the Trump organization w/ them. Like the Trump International Hotel - one of the kids would bat for the Trump organization, while daddy would bat for the guvmint. Or daddy can recuse himself, and Mike Pence can bat for the guvmint. Whatever works"
Are you kidding? What's next to impossible is Trump not meddling with his biz interests & brand. Rockefeller offered to put his holdings in a blind trust when he became Ford's VP in 1974 but the offer was declined. Trump is no more capable of even making that offer than he is of growing back his own real hair. And even if he did put it in a truly blind trust, he would find a way to interfere.
"Remind me who were the ones screaming people down with accusations of "racist, misogynist, nazi, hitler"
Bitch, please. Have you seen what minorities have had to put up with? And the people who are screaming at them barely fucking vote.
"With their loss of this election, they are are slowly realising why such power is not to be granted. Their opponents now wield this power, and they are terrified of it being used against themselves" Be terrified that they realize how much power they'll wield if they show up to vote. Millions of Dem voters couldn't get it up for Clinton &stayed home. whereas Trump got fewer votes than Romney in 2012, barely more than Al Gore in 2000, a couple million less than Bush in 2004.
Had one as a roommate for a while. The agency he worked for had him on a contract with a certain well known men's clothing brand. He had to wear only certain brand clothes provided for him when in public, had personal fitness trainer, used only hair products provided by a professional that he saw every week, saw a dermatologist for skin care product although he didn't really need to, and attended charity benefits and other events on behalf of the client in addition to actual modeling.
Best wing man ever he attracted women but wasn't interested.
Sure, that must be it. It has nothing to do with the danger of telling people a flaky driving assistance system is an autonomous driving system.
Tesla doesn't call Autopilot autonomous & Musk stated clearly a couple years ago that the original hardware was insuffficient. Now he thinks this updated system is but I disagree - needs at least one rear-facing radar and possibly another on the driver's left side for fast-lane merging
Check out the profile head shot for any aging actor. They've got a studio portrait left over from about 40 years ago. Actors are the most shallow, appearance-obsessed people you will ever meet.

"why didn't Mrs Obama make it a point to make all obese people exercise to the point that they became trim, and less likely to suffer heart disease?"
Because the GOP would call that a direct attack on their voting base?
"She's never held public office and as such probably isn't qualified for any high-level political job"
Er, tell me again about the qualifications of the president-elect, pls

Anybody have a script I can run to join in the fun?
Damn kids and their IoT botnet toys.
Back in my day we had to work a bit harder. Today, it's basically downloading a fucking app and pressing the shiny button.
Like it or not, that's called progress.
"getting shot when they point guns at the police" - there seem to be more minorities getting killed, NOT pointing guns than white guys who DO
There is no Plan(et) B

None. Because the older cars won't be able to drive themselves.

What a crock of shite. Every move, misstep, crash or fire is roundly scrutinized & criticized.

high level languages
I agree. We need to fire all C programmers and go back to Assembly only. None of this high level abstraction stuff.
Assembly?? Microcode or nothing, bitches!!
