In a game like WoW, you're basically walking or riding a horse around. That limits the distances you have to travel. Even the cities are excusably small when you rationalize for the smaller fantasy "village." With Sci-Fi, the ranges that the map worlds have to cover will become huge to be believable. That's a lot of space to design and populate.
I see this as GM doing a little cool research on the side. I'd rather see them trying out ideas like this than churning out another 4 ton behemoth. And, there might actually be a market for vehicles like this; campuses, plants, the handicapped needing faster mobility, etc.
Don't rely on your "recollection," rely on the evidence. My favorite factoid; LAPD took a blood sample from OJ for DNA testing then walked it over to the crime scene to give to a cop. When, the cop checked it back into evidence, some of the blood was missing.
Don't get me wrong, I think OJ did it. But, I also think LAPD got caught "helping out" their case. As the GP beautifully said, "a guilty man was framed."
I understand why they didn't. As stated above, he's old and he's already been punished by losing his career. My only problem with not having a mistrial is that it allows him to run around the country claiming vindication when there is concrete evidence that he took bribes and unreported gifts.
That's not to say his site will fail. The problem with so many bad web sites is that the UI is BAD. Craigslist has a very good UI, though it's incredibly simple. If someone designed a great graphical UI, then they could blow away Craigslist. The problem with so much UI development is that the assumption is that more is more without regard for the mechanics of the UI.
I like Craiglist and I'm a regular visitor, but there's plenty of room for improvement.
Rather than making themselves community sites to attract the eyeballs that would generate revenue, so many online sites treat the internet like a cash register. On-line advertisements should have been as dirt cheap (or free) as Craigslist since printing costs don't warrant what most charge for on-line ads.
Also, so many on-line newspapers haven't figured out how to create a good front page. Check out my home paper's site. You're bombarded by so much data and links that you simply can't take in everything you're seeing (thus you ignore most of it).
Newspapers just failed to figure out the internet which is why so many are disappearing.
Ummm, how do you think you GET to a nuke-free world? It takes work, diplomacy, and SMALL steps. We've been making progress over the last 40 years with agreements like limits on testing. You don't sit in a room and say, "OK, no nukes now." All of these goals are steps to eventually a nuke-free world.
I know how popular it is to dismiss everything you hear from this President (at least for 46% of voters). But, this isn't political posturing, it's a true diplomatic position. Compare this to Bush who wanted to ramp up our nuclear program and tell me you don't see the difference.
We have the most powerful conventional army. In a nuke-free world, we'd be able to apply that power in far more places (not saying we SHOULD). The nuclear deterrent works both ways.
Plus, maintaining and securing our nuclear stockpiles is insanely expensive.
Israel is the 100th largest country in the world and has the 5th largest nuclear arsenal. We freak out whenever Iran or N. Korea flexes their muscle, but we don't even ACKNOWLEDGE the fact that Israel has so many nukes it's pressuring everyone else in the region to nuke up as well. Look up Mordecai Venunu; hope I spelled his name right.
At least make the Middle East nuke-free and we'd have some credibility whenever we whine about how evil Iran is.
lol yeah right. So, if there are no losses then why doesn't the film industry leak ALL of their movies for the free "publicity"? Oh, that's right, because that's not how a business is run.
The FBI isn't going to raid his house if it was just his servers being used as a conduit for illegal activity. He himself is the target of the investigation.
I agree with the sentiments of the FBI case, but not their methods. The movie industry is getting hammered by these unauthorized releases. You're talking potentially billions in losses to the industry. Of course, the FBI will act on this.
This has nothing to do with resource demands. It has everything to do with what cable companies perceive to be an untapped resource. If consumption was the problem, then why do I get charged every time I send a 100 byte text message?
One problem with your first bullet. High end games are getting HUGE. That's a hell of a lot of bandwidth on the server side along with a lot of data to push through someone's cable model. Can you imagine having to wait a day or two to play a game you just bought from Walmart?
Huh? Are these gaming leagues taking in tax payer dollars in the form of stimulus packages that would give the government some say in what salaries are? Oh, they're not? So, STFU.
Dude, DEAL. This site is American which will obviously bias coverage. I often visit British news and entertainment sites and I don't cry about all the stories covering entertainers and personalities I've never heard of. I simply skip them.
I a huge politics junkie and it horrifies me what stories the public latches onto when their very futures are at stake. I only assign 1/4 the blame to the messenger. The other 3/4 goes to the public whose mouse clicks and channel selections have indicated to news outlets what their audience wants to see.
They're playing dumb, because it works. Look at the global warming "debate."

Very interesting theory. I'd like to see how the prosecutors react to being charged for throwing the fight.

What do you mean "trying to rile people against the FBI"? The last thread turned into a Ron Paul convention.

You have a talent for gross simplification if you think Obama is no different from Bush. That being said, this raid does piss me off.
...and it tastes Delicious!
That's weird. As much as Kansas blows and it sucks to live here, we have a remarkably low wind density. Maybe there's some sort of canceling effect?
Well, I am any way! AChIeVeMeNt PwNaGe BiTcHeS!!!

Still bitter McCain lost I see...Too bad we didn't elect that political prodigy Sarah Palin.
