The way I see it there are 3 possible scenerios here, none of which warrant an answer to that question.
1) OP is to lazy to update his software, so we told him to update his software. (most likely).
2) OP uses an Intranet system that requires old versions, in which case he should let IT deal with it and stop fucking up corporate computers.
3) OP is the IT from scenerio 2 and should be fired for not knowing how to do his job/her.
Depends if he offers to cover the expense of every person on the internet that has to deal with the spam and DDOS attacks his machine is likely participating in.
I don't care if your car is 10 years old, but when it's bealching smoke like a refinery and the brakes only work on Tuesday, you have just become a liability and a threat to every other person on the road. In short, now you ARE my problem, so take the damn machine it and get it road/net worthy!
Fine, intranet sucks (some still stick you with IE6). But name a PUBLIC site with more than 10 unique hits per day and *maybe* Mozilla will take you seriously.
Your northern neighbours in Canada have been paying $1.30/litre for close to a year, that's just over $5/gallon.
Americans keep bitching about gas prices while they routinely have the cheapest gas in the world. Even compared to other countries on the same continent they're getting much cheaper rates.
The only long-term problem with electric vehicles is that the batteries wear out. You basically have to compare the cost of new batteries every 5-10 years (depending on the type of battery) to how much you'd pay for gas over that time period.
Did you check out Lenovo's X series? Not *quite* as light as the zenbook, but still not nearly as heavy as most other laptops. The x200 also gets amazing battery (I get ~11 hours on a full charge).
There is a surprising number of people still using pre-XP computers, there are also a lot of embedded systems such as older game consoles, some cell phones and many routers that do not, and may never, support IPv6. These devices are going to need compatibility layers installed like the digital TV's do.
It's called an analogy. I'll leave to you to figure out what that is.
What part of "public" did you not read...?
Good to know.

For those that suck at match, that's about $.46/gallon!

No, they're insects.
Riiiiiight. And who's going to keep track of to whom eveyr laser pointer is sold?
Wasn't there something like 15,000 barrels stolen? This would be like finding a brick of 20's a block away from a bank robbery...
Just make sure you use a warehouse with lots of growth potential!
There is 1 MAJOR difference between horse shit and car polution. Horse shit can be cleaned up with a street cleaner!
Or Hydro. Western Canada uses Hydro for almost 100% of it's electricity. In fact we make so much of it we sell around half to California.
Some of us already are. http://stoptpp.org/

Sure, but paying somebody else to do it for you is like using Ubuntu instead of Debian.
Windows would be the ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) vehicle.
This is more akin to mining, you're just mining in a liquid with bacteria instead of in a hole with shovels.

Tell that to Steven Harper!
Well, the newest iPhone did just come out...
By creating a not-so-compatible implementation and getting it installed on millions of computers.
Not if I can convince him it reminds him of ectoplasm.
