Anyone that monopolizes hospital resources for a band-aid or tylenol damn well BETTER be charged at least that much, unless they are getting a cast to go with that band-aid.
Writing programs for these people sounds like handing people the very gun they will shoot me with.
Wait until they realize they had the enemy design their weapons. "That's strange, I can't seem to target anyone wearing a blue shirt with green pants. Stranger yet, this entire mob of angry geeks appear to be wearing just that."
dingdingding. Don't want access to internet? UNPLUG the internet (hosted question server can be done on private lan). Don't want access to shell? Pop off all the keyboard keys that the applet doesn't need. In fact, knowing most applets, it's probably multiple choice, so just unplug the damn keyboard altogether and make the question system a fullscreen application.
You're assuming the battery actually WILL last 10 years. After a year, most warranties run out and there's nothing the consumer can do about it anyways. If advertising a keyboard as lasting 10 years results in a 25% increase in sales and 10% of them are returned a year later (most people don't bother returning defective products after 3 months unless they cost over $100), that is considered a success.
Actually, it would be better for FPS than any other use. You have 2 options, either each keypress creates lots of electricity (makes keyboards harder to use), or make lots of keypresses (FPS is *definitely* a contender there).
I believe the bluetooth spec requires constant communication. You could theoretically disconnect/reconnect each time, but that usually takes a few seconds at the very least.
"Quality" is a very subjective term, especially when applied to the television network. Some people only consider $billion/episode shows "high quality", others prefer the cheaper, yet WELL WRITTEN stuff like simpsons (the originals were cheap) redgreen, etc. There are only 2 channels outside the "basic" range that *I* find even worth looking into, everything else up there is sports and movies and I could get through other means (netflix or the network's website).
How is it unlimited? He would only be able to watch exactly the same quantity of video as he can on a $29.99 basic cable subscription. You are pretty much restricted to the number of hours in a month multiplied by the number of TV's in the household.
And there's nothing wrong with that. If you feel more comfortable using one environment for all your machines, more power to you. Personally I like gnome3 on the desktop and stumpwm on the laptop where I don't usually have my mouse.
If drugs were legalized, the drug cartels would just find something else that was illegal. When alcohol was legalized, most of the gangs didn't start up legit beer businesses, they switched to drugs (which hadn't been a huge issue until then). Gangs and cartels work drugs because there is a huge profit margin and no legal competition. There is a huge profit margin and no legal competition *because* it is illegal. Legalize drugs and they'll start dealing in guns, bombs or people instead, because they can charge huge profit margins and no "mom and pop shop" is going to start competing with them.
Except he has already told them about it, so if there was anything in that e-mail that could be used to identify him and then "all of the sudden" they get a breach, guess who's getting a door pounding?
Did Google ever say how much the installation was going to cost them? It would be very interesting to get an accurate estimate of solid wifi coverage costs.
Maybe not rootkits or "effective" DRM, but it IS still there. Look at almost any music cd from the last 10 years. There will be a logo with something about the cd being "protected from unauthorized copying". Just because the DRM has been broken doesn't mean it isn't there anymore.

He asked what operating system HAVE viruses, not which operating systems have at one point had A virus.
And with the advent of the maker bot I believe we will finally see the Year Of The Gingerbread Desktop.
FTFY
So YOU are the one that actually used that site! Of all the times not to post as AC....
Sometimes you just gotta keep running and not stop.
World of Warcraft is not an FPS, real games have bunny hopping and strafing!

Or just a USB hub.

So who was it? Remember, not everyone on slashdot is American.
Yeah, that usually falls into the category of "harassment". Not saying I'm against it, just stating the probable outcome.
Interesting, I did not know that. Just out of curiosity, does Canada get similar support to Windows, or are they also "other countries"?
Unless you have credit, in which case they'll just max THAT out.

You can get deb and rpm files in the mail now?!?

xfce, lmde, openbox, gnome-fallback, the list goes on...

Unless you buy windows on a disk in a cardboard box, the only support you will get is some minimum wage tech in india employed by dell/hp/etc.
