I work for an ISP in Northwest Indiana.. Our company has totally embrased linux.. All the Tech Support Tri-boot between NT, 98, and Linux. The techs tend to spend the majority of their time in Linux. Also, a lot of servers are moving toward linux too.. Including the Oracle Server, DHCP, Web Servers, and soon the radius server..
We're always looking for linux people... They're just so hard to keep them...
I believe Linux is currently using OSS Compatibility.... (last I looked..) I'm not sure.. last time I checked how my mp3's play in linux...... nevermind..
Netscape will always be known for something that microcrap cannot.... It's coders.. Does anyone have the slightest clue who the coders behind IE are? No.. (at least I don't).. Netscape had personality... with heros such as jwz.... And their homepages were online to look though to see what they do in their spare time (The aluminum can bridge for example)
Even though I go between windows and linux on a daily basis, I still use Netscape.... I even install Win98 without IE4.. because I believe in the values Netscape had (has?). It's good vs. evil... netscape vs. microsoft.
About the Open Source thing: I'm sure more people will contribute once mozilla is out.. It's very hard to contribute when things are changing on a daily basis.... I've been following it for quite sometime.. When they were using the old codebase.. it was almost ready to release when they canned it to go to the raptor engine...
I still have faith that netscape can pull this off.... I hope other do to.
He's trying to prevent scalpers.... That's my biggest guess... He wants more money..... I think ? 1) If you rent out a theatre, it'll cost a little more.. The theatre gets that money.. not lucas 2) If you get lots of tickets weeks before and the first showings are sold out.. Who would pay for $20 tickets?... A lot of people
This is my guess on what's going through Lucas's mind.... Just a guess
I'm actually had to install Novell 5 for a class.. (I had to use/install Novell 4 and 3 b4)... Novell 5 is great... I love how they added XFree86 to it... It's interesting....They started using open source in it (ie xfree86), so I guess the next move was to start opening up some of their stuff... My guess is you have to sign an NDA to get this stuff..
I was in the same situation.. We started out with Oracle on Dec Unix... Since Dec got bought out by Compaq, we decided to move to a different platform.. The choices were solaris, and linux.... We choice linux because if we needed to upgrade, it was just a standard PC.... you can buy thoses a dime a dozen.... Solaris on the other hand.. gots lots of $$$ to upgrade.. DELL put us together a nice RedHat Certified PIII with a nice raid controller..... (rackmountable!)..
I didn't have problems with the Win32 Version.. I just copied all the.dll's to the \windows\system directory and all was well.. It was extremely fast in my opinion and resizeing windows was EXTREMELY better than 4.x
That comeback was very good and to the point. It's amazing how many stupid people there are in the world... If people would just do research before they release something, this kind of article would never be published in the first place.
It's just like the PC vs Mac thing... PC users are always dis the Mac users but Mac users never really yell to the PC users..

How else can game developers get more $$ in their pockets? Make the game appeal to everyone.. not just the windows users....
I think this a great idea... I would definately shell out some $ for some good linux games.. =)

FullCircle is Netscape's bug reporting software.. if it crashes, it sends a bug report to netscape.
For me at least, I copied the dll's to the system dir and things went a lot faster..
Not sure though....
