If you can't back up your words, then they are worthless at best. If you've all done your homework so well...then surely you can cite your sources. These posts are full of left-wing knee jerk idiots looking to pass blame. I am sorry...but socialism *IS* a bad thing....often times it works GREAT....for awhile....and then, the system gets abused. Show me a good example where socialism has worked WELL for centuries. Capitalism has held up fairly well for a LONG time now. (For anyone who's willing to do anything for themselves...it's a great system.)

If *YOU* don't like what MS is doing...then stop using their stuff. With capitalism...it's up to all of you. Oh wait...I forgot....most of the idiots flaming about MS on slashdot these days use MS products. I really doubt alot of these people even HAVE a dedicated linux machine, let alone use it as their primary OS. *THAT* is how you beat MS. Don't cry and wait for the govt to do it...get off your ass and deal with it yourself. Your geeks...clean up your own back yard. The wannabe geeks can go crawl back under the rocks you came from.

Well...with all the the miniaturized laptops in niche markets in the US and more common in Japan, they very easily exist. A Sony Vaio GT1 (with a crusoe processor BTW) has a 6.4" (diagonally measured) XGA TFT with a 1024x768 resolution. I really don't think it would be a cheapo device, but the parts are out there in mass production now. I am still hard pressed to think of a reason why they can't bring them to market in the price range of a good entry level laptop at least....if not less. They'd run linux (free) and you wouldn't even need much (if any) harddrive space on one.

Umm...you don't "overclock" motors, although you can supe up an electric motor in almost as many ways as you can with an internal combustion engine. That is one of the most lame uses of the term overclock I have heard in awhile. The motor doesn't have an internal clock that we are increasing for more power in some way. It's got magnets and wires, and a pile of control circuitry.

The other thing...why do you mention an ICE GM product? GM has a hybrid that gets like 80 MPG they have been demoing. Look it up actually...it's a really slick and innovative machine.

And as an afterthought...look up how much pollution a MODERN coal power plant puts out. It's no where near what people think they are, because they used to be so sloppy about pollution years ago. It's the lack of that knowledge and NIMBY that keep the things from being built anywhere that we could use one.
