Some people's religious beliefs include "I should kill anyone who disagrees with me." Some people act on their beliefs.
So it's the killing you object to then, and not the beliefs. Have I got that right? Good, because I agree with you completely. Religious doctrine, the xtian bible for example, is full of dangerous ideas that no sane person would believe enough to actually act on. That doesn't mean the whole religion is bad or it's followers inherently evil. Right?
Heading into Godwin territory, It's he moral equivalent of being a nice Nazi. You appreciate a strong leader and he makes the trains run on time. These things are true, but you are promoting an organization that does great evil by being part of it. Exactly the same thing with most religions.
Christianity may have at one point in time done great evil, but I can say that I do not believe they do great evil anymore.
At best specific churches do small acts of evil from time to time, just like any human or group of humans.
Then you are both blind to the sectarian violence around the world and you have missed the point entirely.

Yet the people who complain are often clueless of the process. What are people's opinions on L1B for instance? Does that look better to worse to them? Or were they unaware? What about green cards? Are people aware that H1Bs, L1Bs and all the others were put in place because the green card process became too slow and bureaucratic? Why not fix the green card system so we can do away with the secondary worker visas?
My impression is that if the rules were followed concerning who meets the skills criteria and lotteries were done away with, then the perceived problems of visa abuse by companies would not exist. If they dropped all those visas and fixed the green card process then the perceived problems of worker-on-visa abuse would not exist.
The law gave the government 90 days to provide me with a green card. They took five years.
The tech industry in the US is the main tech industry in the world precisely because there is inertia and techies from around the world can move to where the industry is thus maintaining the Us as the center of tech. The effect of stopping them coming is not to improve wages here through worker shortage. It will be to cause the center of gravity of the tech industry to move to wherever techies around the world are able to move to.
No, because a good sysadmin would like to eat something besides mac&cheese, and the company prefers to pay wages that would require you live with your parents rent free, and on your "special night" you can afford to spring for mac&cheese...for yourself.
So leaving and messing with the database gets you better food that mac & cheese. I'm not seeing your logic.
You know... easter.. the day we celebrate where Jesus turned into a fluffy bunny and went around shitting out chocolates and colored eggs.
Back in biblical times, reanimated zombies were not a joking matter. When the zombie control team rolled back the stone and found it gone, they new they had a new outbreak. It was all hushed up by couching things in terms of messiahs and apostles and fake magic tricks, but the select few knew and their ancestors went on to make zombie movies to prepare us.
Just bomb them ASAP. It's clearly a criminal organization at the top. Time to put an end to it. 10,000 tomahawk missiles to strike the targets near the border at 3am. Loads of MOABs JDAMs for the rest of the country. My estimate is 2 days all done and after that South Korea can clean up the rest and integrate.
So when they put out all the paranoid rhetoric that the US is only out to invade and bomb them, are they really being paranoid?
I have a big house with huge rooms and high ceilings, with no lawn whatsoever. I couldn't be happier. Lawns are a pain the arse. Walking distance to the bar, starbucks, supermarket, doctor and 5 restaurants, but no lawn. It's 28 houses in one development with dual use zoning for business and residential and it turns out to be the only such development in the entire state. It's either house + lawn or shitty apartment. People don't know what they're missing because they have no opportunity to try something else because in this corner of the country they don't build like that.
The test didn't even compare the battery performance while editing code with VIM followed by compiling it with MinGW. Watching video's for hours on end is not something I do. Coding for hours on end is.
One reason I avoid working from home is that I trust my coworkers in the office to let me work more than I trust my wife and my kids to let me work.
This. They don't understand what it means to leave someone alone so they can focus. At least at work, all my co-workers are either in a different state or a different country.
Here in Texas, we make up for all those coastal elite snowflakes who think there's something wrong with drinking and driving.
Here in West coast liberal snowflake land, you would be surprised at the amount of drinking and driving in my neighborhood, we have walking distance to 3 bars and people still drive there. We have better government though, so it's a win-win.
>bwing managed
Is bwing management what comes after agile?
in effect Samsungs ToS says that if you need to have a private conversation you should leave the room.
My ToS said don't plug in the ethernet cable.
It's DeadRat. You must be one of those multiply-pierced twats who thinks booting off an umbongo live CD makes you some kind of guru.
It's my domain name you insensitive clod!
'Nuff said.

>The entire H1B is a scam.
Says someone who has never been through it.
So when they put out all the paranoid rhetoric that the US is only out to invade and bomb them, are they really being paranoid?
Yes. That's China, not the USA. Next question?
China who is putting out paranoid rhetoric, or China who is NK is claiming will bomb them?
No, because a good sysadmin would like to eat something besides mac&cheese, and the company prefers to pay wages that would require you live with your parents rent free, and on your "special night" you can afford to spring for mac&cheese...for yourself.

It's nice that they are thinking of the environment and building hybrid missiles.
If that's all you do, your chainsaw will get dirty and your guns will get blunt.
A good sysadmin would have a job.

Bonus: you don't even need to buy clothes!
That'll be popular in Starbucks.
you meant
function printfs(txt)
{
windows.alert(txt);
}
Tsk. What makes you think I would program on Windows? I write algorithms, not graphical candy.
But it's faster tan the 30 seconds it takes to load the debug console.
Debugging console? What's wrong with printfs?

Why do psychic's need maps...?
To show that they can solve graph isomorphisms in sub-poly time using their psychic powers.

Like Solaris and "Linux 2.4"
It makes sense that you would keep a library of tools for hacking older systems and software. There's so much more there to hack.
